Publisher's summary

Roger Ramius Sergei Chiang MacClintock was young, handsome, athletic, an excellent dresser, and third in line for the Throne of Man. So it wasn't surprising that he became spoiled, self-centered, and petulant. After all, what else did he have to do with his life?

But that was before his mother, the empress, packed him off to a backwater planet and he found himself shipwrecked on the planet Marduk, with jungles full of damnbeasts, killerpillars, carnivorous plants, and barbarian hordes of bad disposition. Fortunately, Roger had an ace in the hole: Bravo Company of Bronze Battalion of the Empress' Own Regiment. Now all Roger has to do is hike halfway around the planet, capture a spaceport from the Bad Guys, commandeer a starship, and go home.

Don't miss the rest of the action in the Prince Roger Series.

One of the best

One of the best titles to be found in the entire genre. A huge, well written story arc populated by likeable, well developed characters, this is one I've come back to several times over the years. This an excellent example of what you get by bringing together Mr. Ringo and Mr. Weber, two of the best in the business. You will be entertained.

Great book

Liked the narrator and story, great world building and characters. One of the best books by either Ringo or Weber.

Weber Ringo team a pure winner!!

This David Weber and John Ringo collaboration really sets the bar for modern military SF. Kind of a "Hemingway -esk" main theme with an immature fop learning manhood from an older and wiser man. Great battle scenes and interestingly believable situations. This series got me rolling on John Ringo books like the Posleen War series, note to Audible, we need these in audiobook form... and led to my blazing through most of David Webers work. Honestly, this one is well worth your time. Can we give 10 stars? Well done David and John, thanks for the ride!!

John Ringo & David Weber at their BEST!!!!

What made the experience of listening to March Upcountry the most enjoyable?

I absolutely loved the characters in this series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of March Upcountry?

The most memorable moment for me as I read March Upcountry was when I realized that I wished I could stand and fight alongside Prince Roger, and I no longer just wanted someone to just punch him in the mouth.

What does Stefan Rudnicki bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Stefan Rudnicki brings life to the characters and I would happily read any other books done by him,

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Love, loyalty, pain, rebirth.
March Upcountry a terrifying journey to manhood surrounded by the wilds of an alien planet.

Any additional comments?

Loved the book,

Spoiled Prince grows up

This basically the story of a spoiled prince, and his Marines, being shipwrecked on a planet full of hostiles. The prince grows up and his men learn to not hate him. Solid military Sci-fi.

Very Enjoyable!

This is a great listen for fans of military science fiction novels. The narrator (who I beleive also does the voice for most of the Ender's Game series of novels) makes listening to the story even more enjoyable.

Wonderful start to the series

The characters are finely crafted. Watching Prince Roger grow and mature is great. I would recommend the series to anyone.

Great adventure

I've been a fan of David Weber from the Honor Harrington Series. This audio book was a fun listen all the way through. Very easy to follow and a good story. It's not a monumental masterpiece, but its very entertaining and a good listen.

Great first book of a series.

One of my favorite series of books. I periodically re-read or listen to the series and enjoy the adventure each time. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the next set of books that will continue the series by Ringo and Weber. Although I enjoy Ringo by himself, I do not enjoy most of Weber's work without the grit of combat that Ringo provides. Overall a great book and it will make you read the others.
