Publisher's summary

When a 15-year-old girl is abducted by vampires, it’s up to U.S. Marshal Anita Blake to find her. And when she does, she’s faced with something she’s never seen before: a terrifyingly ordinary group of people - kids, grandparents, soccer moms - all recently turned and willing to die to avoid serving a master. And where there’s one martyr, there will be more.…

But even vampires have monsters that they’re afraid of. And Anita is one of them.…

Back to basics

What made the experience of listening to Kiss the Dead the most enjoyable?

I enjoyed the simplicity of the story. This read brought back the original concept of Anita fighting monsters rather than herself. I hope there are more like this to come.

What did you like best about this story?

I enjoyed the focus on the reason for the story, what was happening rather than Anita's relationships. These are important but they had begun to take over the entire book with very little focus on the detecting, fighting and destroying the monster they were after.

Which character – as performed by Kimberly Alexis – was your favorite?

Anita. But all were easy to listen to.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No.

Love ALL of Anita’s books.

My only disappointment is Micah is not from a foreign country so why is his accent so wonky?

Just okay

This story line didn't have the action as most of Anita Blake story does. I still enjoyed it however.

ANITA BLAKE DOES IT AGAIN

What made the experience of listening to Kiss the Dead the most enjoyable?

It is just soo much better!!! Not only is it way more exciting. I love how the music and sound effects are all incorporated giving you the full action packed experience......

Have you listened to any of Kimberly Alexis’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

All are wonderful. Kimberly Alexis is one of my favorite performers. She is so very talented. Kimberly actually brings each character life. I can't even read these books anymore. I enjoy her narration too much!!!!

Good, but can be better..

Any additional comments?

I generally really enjoy Kimberly Alexis' narrative of Anita and her world. With that being said I am immensely displeased that Micha suddenly has the undercurrent of a celtic accent. I am a stickler for consistency and I find this really disturbing.

Good book

Would you consider the audio edition of Kiss the Dead to be better than the print version?

This is a fantastic book in both the print and audio version! Ms. Alexis does a fantastic job narrating all of the characters.

A decent listen

Not as fleshed out as earlier novels. Still a decent listen. Kimberly Alexis is still a great narrator.

Micah was a distraction

I love the series, but Micah had an accent in this book, and it was really distracting... took away from the experience for me.. still my favorite series though.

Kimberly Alexis

I love the character continuity and different voices that Alexis uses in this book. At no point did I have to think back to figure out who was talking. I only question that Micah now has a slight (Irish?) accent.
