Critic reviews

“The third book in an increasingly excellent series, Iron Kissed has all the elements I've come to expect in a Patricia Briggs novel: sharp, perceptive, characterization, non-stop action, and a level-headed attention to detail and location. I love these books.” (Charlaine Harris, number-one New York Times best-selling author)

“Another top-notch paranormal mystery...Thompson is a sharp, strong heroine and her lycanthropic love triangle is honest and steamy...a tense, nimble, crowd-pleasing page-turner.” (Publishers Weekly)

I love this series

Where does Iron Kissed rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I had to download the next in the series when I finished this book. This book is right in line with the first two books in this series. I would read this series in order if I were you.

What other book might you compare Iron Kissed to and why?

I guess it is like Stephanie Plum with paranormal shapeshifters. The humor is there and the struggle between the men in her life makes it real similar.

Have you listened to any of Lorelei King’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have heard a Stephanie Plum book from her. It does compare well which is amazing since people in Washington do not sound like people from Jersey.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I liked how she handled with Jessie got hurt. It shows she is already a big part of that pack.

Does need a trigger warning

Although there is a r*pe scene, it is well done. it really resonated with me. I think if there is any way to do a scene like this, that was it.

Overall the story sucked me in. we learn a lot about current characters as well as some new characters.

it's worth the read. but if you have any type of PTSD, procede with caution.

A fantasy story that actually brought tears to my eyes

For the genre this is it’s has humor well thought out and researched storyline with magic hero’s and villains with romance and topics that are current with subject matter that for me tugged hard on my heart strings well worth the listen even better as a part of the series

Heh, Mercy, girl …

… y’all got troubles …

Great story, always enjoy Mercedes Thimpson stories. Just wish she didn’t take so much care of male egos … even though she’s a straight girl.

Trigger warning for some

So I am new to this series (TikTok brought me here) and so far I like the flow and also get annoyed with some of the characters. This book was no different. I thought OF COURSE Mercy won’t let it go, she will stick her nose (coyote of course) where it doesn’t need to be, of course they are going to involve her where she can get hurt. What I wasn’t expecting was to be a blubbering mess from a chapter. As a SURVIVOR of something similar I felt everything. I felt every single emotion. I felt every bit of shame. I felt all of it. I also felt the relief when (you know who and don’t want to spoil) understood to his core too. I was so mad at A. for not seeing it, not understanding, but to hear that one wolf explain had me in even more tears. I would maybe put a disclaimer on this one because if I hadn’t already been through years of treatment and Freedom Session with my church I would maybe have spiraled. Either way love this series!

Another good one...

4.5-5 stars

This was a great story and addition to the series. I really love this series but I will admit that this book bothered me a bit because **spoiler** Mercy gets beaten up and raped by the bad guy. The language used for the rape is vague and distances the act a bit but it's still disturbing to read. It's not fun but very well done. **end spoiler**

In this book, Mercy's friend and former mentor, Zee, asks her to help the Fae investigate some murders happening in their community. Mercy still owes the Fae a favor for borrowing implements that helped her kill some vampires in the previous book so she agrees to help. She does what she can but the investigation leads to deeper issues when Zee gets arrested for a murder he didn't commit. Everyone tells Mercy to stay out of it but Zee's a good friend and Mercy is loyal so she keeps snooping. She succeed in her investigating but things go bad (see the spoiler above). Thankfully, Mercy is able to take down the bad guy and prove Zee's innocence.

This was a extremely well written story and I did enjoy it a lot...except for the obvious parts. And when that part of the story was over, I really liked the aftermath and how Mercy and Adam deal with things. It was very well done and I loved to see it. Overall, this was a great story and I would recommend the series. :)

Wow

Love mercy Thomson. This is one of the best series I've read in a long time.
Ben , the character Ben has developed nicely. A back story is provided for him.
All in all I recommend this series.

A fun series to read

Great fun and you can all most believe in magic, shape shifters and the whole other worldly characters. Nicely done and a great pace with interesting twists and turns. If you like this genre, and I do, then kick back and be entertained.Pick up the whole series and it is good to read it in sequence.
