Book three does not disappoint. Briggs brings more to the table than just a fantasy novel through-line. These novels so far take on the feeling of a fantasy thriller without being over the top with magic hoo-ha. Mercy continues to be the focus while the author meticulously adds color to the supporting cast.

In this book, you will not hear from the Vampires. Rather this book is focused on the Faye. Also, in this book does Mercy resolve the love triangle or not? I won't tell but this book surly does. I also like the way Briggs brings her messages to bear without hitting you over the head or preachy.

King is as fantastic as ever. Keep reading this series, Briggs continue to bring it. Thumbs up.

    "Well written with great characters."

I suprised myself with how much I enjoyed this series and especially this book. I admit I consider Patricia Briggs a guilty pleasure as I don't think 30-something men are her target audience. But she tells a compelling story with a rich use of language and a deep understanding of how her characters think. I would recommend this novel to anybody looking for a no-brain escapist novel.

    "Iron Kissed"

Wonderful series! The author and the reader are an incredible team. This series is a great mixture of fantasy, suspense, action and romance. The characters are really rich and fun. The romance between the two main characters really enhances the story, but doesn't bog the story down. I don't read romance novels, but a little romance and sex in a book like this is fun. The author develops the romance between the two characters thru the series and makes it intriguing to watch. It's fun, sexy and easy to believe. Each book is complete enough to stand alone, but it's better to read the books in order since some things are built on what occurred in a previous book, but not dependent on it. The reader is really good and is able to develop voices and stay true to them thru the series; you know exactly who is speaking all the time. I highly recommend this series and have to a lot of people!

"another fabulous story in the Mercy Thompson serie"

I've read the entire series through a couple of times before deciding to listen to the Audible version. I've enjoyed the narrated story and think it adds another layer of enjoyment. it's also convenient to multi-task while listening, meaning there's more time to spend with the characters than reading itself allows.

    "Dang oh Mighty"

Ok Seriously??? I don't like books that bring tears to my eyes. Dang oh freaking mighty! ARG! That part was both written and read well, I had to stop this book a few times. There are certain emotions I don't admit to having and I don't appreciate something bringing them out in me. Holy Smokes. Cheese is Crusty!! lol Some of the things Mercy says you just have to stop everything and write it down for future reference. This book goes over an event that no one should ever go through and the manipulation is so thick, I was ... Well I don't want to talk about it... If the next book exploits these emotions again, I don't think I will buy book 5.

"A very emotional but satisfying entry!"
Would you listen to Iron Kissed again? Why?

Hell yes! I loved this book! It's a rare kind of story that delivers a chapter so tragic that it made me so sad, but it ends on such a wonderful/ high note that made me so happy in the end for the characters. King's narration is top notch, bringing the right level of emotion to the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Apart from Mercy and Adam (who became a pure badass in this book), I would chose Ben. He was always a funny interesting character with a potty mouth, but he gets more developed in this book. He delivers a very emotional/ heartwarming speech to Adam about Mercy in chapter 12 that made me gain so much respect for him as a man and character. It's the kind of speech you wouldn't expect from a character like Ben who reminds me of Vinnie Jones.I'd also chose Honey who goes completely against expectations in a good way. Instead of being the "other girl" which usually plagues stories like this, she's shown to be very caring and respectful towards Mercy especially in the end .

    Which scene was your favorite?

I almost hate to admit it, but THAT scene in chapter 11 is the scene that left a major mark on me that no book has ever done. It was so tragic and traumatizing, I had to pause for a minute because of how much it affected me. While there is magic in this scene, it's handled very realistic and believably. But I loved the aftermath of it more when Adam shows up to save Mercy. Just how far he was willing to go to save her to holding on to her and never letting go in the midst of the chaotic scene . If I were Adam, I would have done the same to protect a woman I love. We see the process Mercy goes through after it all and we really root for her overcome it.I might sound a bit shameless here, but I also enjoyed Mercy's strip scene in front of the lawyer she hired in order to prove she was a coyote shape changer. I found it very funny and sexy at the same time. But the lawyer's expression is what makes this scene for me.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Oh yes. This book is so easy to get into and easy to enjoy. King's narration is great and makes it better. I'd love to listen to it again and again. I just need to be mentally prepared for THAT scene.

    Any additional comments?

As a man in his late 20's, I'm shocked at how much I love this series. While I may not really be part of the targeted audience, I don't view this as a guilty pleasure at all. It's an amazing book series and it deserves a live action adaptation. I'd go with a T.V. Show on H.B.O so they can get away with more. LOL.
