Publisher's summary

Enter the woods...if you dare.

For centuries, the woods have been a pivotal part of the wonder and danger of fairy tales, for once you enter anything can happen. Elves, druids, fairies - who knows what you will find once you dare step into the forest?

And now, New York Times best-selling author Kim Harrison ventures into these mysterious, hidden lands of magic and mystery in her first short-story collection. Into the Woods brings together an enchanting mix of brand-new, never-before-published stories and tales from Harrison's beloved, best-selling Hollows series.

The tales here include an original Hollows novella, "Million-Dollar Baby", about Trent Kalamack's secret elven quest in Pale Demon; two original short stories, "Pet Shop Boys" and "Temson Woods," that explore just what happens when humanity and the supernatural collide; and two novelettes, "Spider Silk" and "Grace," set in new worlds of imagination and adventure. Into the Woods also contains all of the previously published Hollows short stories - together in one volume for the very first time.

Step into the woods and discover the magic for yourself.

Kim Harrison never disappoints! I loved the stories that fills in The Hollows series, which I am currently re-reading and it was nice to hear how much shes changed as an author. I also really like to hear Marguerite Gavin read the stories. She has a great voice and style.

Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan series lovers

Would you consider the audio edition of Into the Woods to be better than the print version?

I love the audio versions of Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan and Hallows. The narrator in this series is wonderful and brings the characters to life. Give them the right inflection, with Al, and Ivy, or Rachel and Trent, even Jinx.

Have you listened to any of Marguerite Gavin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Marguerite Gavin is a fantastic narrator. She's able to get into characters, and emotions and adjust her voice to make them believable

Any additional comments?

I love this anthology, it is rare that an author can put together, original and previous works that will compliment her other works. If you have followed Kim Harrison's work you will enjoy this anthology.

A great addition to the Hollows world

A great book with a collection of items that further explains and deepens our knowledge of the world of the Hollows. Kim Harrison turns out a stellar book which helps to flesh-out the characters and their histories. I love that. Ms. Gavin read the stories in this book with her usual flair. Bravo to both of them.

I was surprised by how very sad the story about Al was when compared to the books. But I guess a story about a demon cannot be a very upbeat thing.

Thanks for another great "listen"!

A Bargain!

This is a collection of several stories from The Hollows as well as four stories from outside. The Hollows stories help fill in the history prior to the start of the series as well as a few gaps between or even within the books, such as the story of Trent and Jenks quest to obtain Trent's daughter. Most of them will seem familiar since they're mentioned or alluded to in the novels so you'll feel right at home listening. The stand alone stories are all worth a listen in their own right. Grace in particular is a world and characters as rich as The Hollows and I hope there will be more of her in the future. Marguerite is outstanding as always. My only complaint (and it's a minor one) is that the audio quality didn't seem quite up to the usual high standard of the other Hollows books. 20 hours of great listening for just over $9. Unfortunately it was over way too soon.

5 Star Bonus, questions answered! & More Kisten

This one really is for the fans of the Hollows. It was fun getting all the juicy insiders about Rachel, Ivy, Trent, Al and the rest. But for me it was so nice to get more of Kisten. This collection of short stories has great stories with Kisten. Yes that sexy Kisten and you get to see how close he really was with Ivy and even a deeper love for Rachel. If you are hungry for more of Kisten, Rachel, Ivy, Trent and yes Jenks. This little morsel might just help tide be over until the release of the next Hollow’s book. Another great surprise is length of the anthology. It is so work the credit. I was thoroughly entertained for 20 and 6 minutes with Marguerite Gavin as the narrator, she is a terriffic narrator!. Thanks audible for offering this at such a great price. Wow what a deal! Kim Harrison really know how to say thank you to her fans, this collection of short stories is all for the Fans. I loved it!
