The BEST in this genre, in long, long, time!

What did you love best about Hexed?

If you love a witty sense of humor during times of crises, you'll love this book. (Think "Hellboy.") And if you're always waiting for the next Neil Gaiman book, you'll love this series. With the current influx of vampire/werewolf stories, this is a breath of fresh air...smart, funny and intelligent. Love the dog, Oberon. Love Atticus. Even love the Morrigan. Quickly listened to the first 4 books and now I'm suffering post-Druid depression waiting for the 5th. (November is painfully far away, since this is only June!) The reader (Luke Daniels), does a great job with the different characters, giving each of them the gift of 'great delivery.' Especially Oberon.

Hearne's Hexed is Incredibly Fun!

As a reader of sci-fi, fantasy and thriller - and an appreciator of witty prose - Hexed is right up my ally. It easily ranks up there with Dresden Files for me.

My audible listening usually involved multi-tasking, so I like stories that I can follow but that keep me entertained and distracted from my chores or work-out. This one fits the bill quite nicely.

I only went 4 stars but could have gone 4.5 - there are books I love more, like Butcher's Codex Alera series, but this one is not far behind. It may catch up by the time I have listened to more of the series.

If the genre is of interest to you and you like fun and action packed stories, don't hesitate to buy this one.

Irreverent, campy fun.

I really like the writing style. The premise is kindof lame, but it's funny and random enough that is reading the whole series.

I even laughed out loud. Atticus and Oberon have great dialogue!
Plus there is the action with all powerful creatures.

What can I say about a cool 21 year old dude who is really really old? He knows how to live....literally!

Fun series.

The series is fin and narration is great. If you're not into fantasy it probably won't be your thing....but I don't mean into fantasy as a Dragon Con cos players sort but rather a fan of obviously unusual mythology. As always the author's vocabulary is great. Pause and look up a word here and there. The is some mild sexual content and typical violence of this genre. Not sure how to rate for kids.

What did you love best about Hexed?

Unlike other series, this author is brining strong characters with obvious weaknesses and real-life challenges. The main character continues to take actions that seem rash and heartless, but later the purpose is given clarity.

Urban fantasy SyFi

I enjoy the iron druid series, the setting, the characters. What kinda bothers me is the casualness of everything. Wether eating a salad or fighting a battle... there is no feel of urgency.

I absolutely love this series and so does my husband. He is an OTR driver and listens to them.
