BOOK 3 IN THE IRON DRUID CHRONICLES

Thor, the Norse god of thunder, is worse than a blowhard and a bully - he’s ruined countless lives and killed scores of innocents. After centuries, Viking vampire Leif Helgarson is ready to get his vengeance, and he’s asked his friend Atticus O’Sullivan, the last of the Druids, to help take down this Norse nightmare.

One survival strategy has worked for Atticus for more than two thousand years: stay away from the guy with the lightning bolts. But things are heating up in Atticus’s home base of Tempe, Arizona. There’s a vampire turf war brewing, and Russian demon hunters who call themselves the Hammers of God are running rampant. Despite multiple warnings and portents of dire consequences, Atticus and Leif journey to the Norse plain of Asgard, where they team up with a werewolf, a sorcerer, and an army of frost giants for an epic showdown against vicious Valkyries, angry gods, and the hammer-wielding Thunder Thug himself.

Loved it!

I read other reviewers expressing displeasure with the backstory middle section, but that was my favorite part!! It served to flesh out this series in a way that was crucial to explain why Atticus would proceed with the action set in motion. Action that was warned against by Christ himself!
I look forward to the next production in the series!!

The Iron Druid rocks on!

This is a great series. Funny, exciting, different, well read. My only complaint with this particular book is that Oberon, the Irish Wolfhound, is not there much and I LOVE him! New book in this series coming out soon-- can't wait!

MAGNIFIQUE

I enjoyed every ounce of the story and the performance only served to enhance the experience. Since I listened to the first book I’ve been referring it to everyone I know. 😁

I’ve listened to all of these many times and shared them with friends. Can’t say enough good about them.

Loved this book!

It's so exciting to experience a writer getting better and better with each book. I thought the first book was okay however, when I got to this one I was truly entertained. The book has great comedy, holds your interest and is quite entertaining. The scene where Jesus and the druid are sitting in the cafe is one of many brilliant scenes. Luke Daniels' narration is perfect for the character. I am looking forward to Kevin Hearne continuing the adventures of The Druid.

Kevin Hearne is the Bomb!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Totally! This book made me laugh out loud. I found myself rewinding to repeat certain lines that just cracked me up.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hammered?

Love the dialog between Atticus and Oberon.

What does Luke Daniels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Luke Daniels is so good at making the story come alive. I can't imagine any other Narrator making Atticus and company come to life like Luke.

Now THIS is entertainment!

I am so glad I took a chance on this series. I haven't laughed this much or enjoyed a book so much in a long time. Hearne has created a main character that charms his way into your consciousness and takes up residence there. I find myself quoting dialogue to people who haven't read it yet, and I hate spoilers! The weather has been nasty for weeks, but when I go into the Iron Druid books, I feel as if I've been on vacation to worlds both strange and familiar and very, very exciting as well. Hammered was the best of the three, but I give them all 5 stars for just existing. I love Atticus, Oberon, and all the other wonderful characters that live within the mind of Kevin Hearne. I look forward to many years of hero worship. Highly, very highly recommended.

Also, Luke Daniels deserves a big thank you for his amazing performance -- He IS Atticus, Oberon and the gang. I don't believe I would have loved the books as much with another reader.
