Publisher's summary

Admiral Geary's First Fleet of the Alliance has survived the journey deep into unexplored interstellar space, a voyage that led to the discovery of new alien species, including a new enemy and a possible ally. Now Geary's mission is to ensure the safety of the Midway Star System, which has revolted against the Syndicate Worlds empire - an empire that is on the brink of collapse.

To complicate matters further, Geary also needs to return safely to Alliance space not only with representatives of the Dancers, an alien species, but also with Invincible, a captured warship that could possibly be the most valuable object in human history. Despite the peace treaty that Geary must adhere to at all costs, the Syndicate Worlds regime threatens to make the fleet's journey back grueling and perilous.

And even if Geary escorts Invincible and the Dancers' representatives safely unharmed, the Syndics' attempts to spread dissent and political unrest may have already sown the seeds of the Alliance's destruction....

Critic reviews

"Rummel's performance is so entertaining that he makes listeners want to hear how he'll perform the story. He populates the international starfleet military with a multitude of accents. While his female characters tend to sound alike, his men growl and swagger through space with brio." ( AudioFile)

I really like this series.

Thought provoking, while still a wild ride. This is my second time and it gets even better as it gets more comfortable.

Another excellent episode of the lost fleet Series

Black Jack and Tanya carry on the adventure. I love Christian Rumbles performances. Never a dull moment as the Lost Fleet explorers new areas of space and returns to the oldest human area of space exploration.

Interferes with my day

This narrator brings the characters to life, consistent from story to story. Once I start one of these books I end up wanting to listen to it until it is done. Distracted by seeing Black Jack and Tanya wiggle past another puzzle, I neglect my surrounding. Great story telling, occasional pithy humor, comments on. the human condition, Are there more?

Great character development and interaction.

Falls in line with the rest of the series. Hard to put down once I started to read. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next.

A good continuation of a series

As we read/listen to the story as Admiral Geary deals with issues from the old Syndicate system of governing and returning to Alliance space. With the fleet returning to Alliance space the story continues. We get to see what happened to Earth and what is happening there. It’s a good story.

Can't get enough of The Lost Fleet

Another great addition to the series. I honestly wish this book was longer because I didn't lose interest for second.

As usual the author does a great job of building a story with twists and turns that will continue to throw you for a loop. He also leaves enough questions to have you begging for me of the story.

The narrator continues to bring extra life to the characters as he's done in the past books with great range and consistency. Was so sad to see this book end. Now comes the torture of waiting for the next book.
