Publisher's summary

Audie Award Finalist, Paranormal, 2014

The ever after, the demonic realm that parallels our own, is shrinking, and if it disappears, so does all magic. It’s up to witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan to fix the ever-after before the fragile balance between magic users and humans fails.

Of course, there’s also the small fact that she caused the ley line to rip in the first place, and her life is forfeit unless she can fix it. And that the most powerful demon in the ever after - the soul-eater Ku'Sox Sha-Ku'ru - has vowed to destroy Rachel, and has kidnapped her friend and goddaughter as leverage. If Rachel doesn’t give herself up, they will die.

Forced by circumstance, Rachel teams up with elven tycoon Trent Kalamack - a prospect fraught with dangers of the heart as well as betrayal of the soul - to return to the ever after and rescue those she loves.

Both worlds teeter on the brink, one on a possible interspecies war, the other for its very existence, and it’s up to Rachel to keep both from being destroyed.

You can't get any better

Would you listen to Ever After again? Why?

Yes and Yes and just in case you're not sure YES! This was a long awaited book for me, I was so excited i literally had Audible up waiting for the release counting down from 5 hours.Fabulous listen, never a dull moment, exceeding it's predecessor and that takes an amazing imagination.

What other book might you compare Ever After to and why?

The rest of the Hollow's, Kim Harrison has a very unique way of writing. I'm a very big listener and reader of fiction and I just haven't listened/read anything close.

What about Marguerite Gavin’s performance did you like?

Wonderful as always, voices are spot on and continuity is excellent.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes! but I'm not telling you where.

Any additional comments?

There seems to be a little issue with production, I noted that in order to listen comfortably I have to turn on the treble reducer on my iPod. It's sort of like the radio's not quite tuned. But to a fan, that's minor.Thank you very much Ms Harrison, I re-listen to The Hollows a lot as they give me such pleasure.

Another Hit...

There's not a lot to say that hasn't already been said about Rachel Morgan. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the Demons have worn out their welcome....and why can't her and Trent Kalamack just be honest with each other, they have known each other since they were kids...all these jabs and innuendos gets a bit childish after awhile...

If you like the Witches, Fairies, Seelie & UnSeelie etc...Check out Seanan McGuires' "October Day" series. It's a refreshing take that realm....

A great addition to this series.

Kim did a great job on this one.

I do not like all the books in the series. I did not like the story in the prior book in this series Perfect Blood. This one makes up for it. Except for Perfect Blood I have listened to the series (and this book) at least twice.

The narrator Marguerite Gavin has mastered the characters in this series...

There is one other audio book in this series that has issues "The Outlaw Demon Wails" The story is fine but the narrator Gigi Bermingham messes-up big time. Thankfully Ms. Gavin narrates the rest of the series.

Could not stop listening

Where does Ever After rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

High marks for the genre. One of the best of the series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ever After?

AL - Rachel - Trent getting together!

Have you listened to any of Marguerite Gavin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Series would not be the great listen without Marguerite.

Good old Rachel!

Expect the unexpected from Rachel Morgan. It will keep you hooked! Ms. Gavin is, as usual, practically flawless.
When will this series be adapted for tv? It would be excellent!

Powerful Redheads Rock!

What did you love best about Ever After?

Rachel has finally come to grips with her ancestry and is willing to work with it not against it. She also discovers that she might be in love.

What other book might you compare Ever After to and why?

I haven't read a lot of urban fantasy and am new to the genre, I picked this up after reading the Sookie series, and was not disappointed. In fact, I think these characters are a little more developed than the Southern Murders.

What does Marguerite Gavin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrator is fantastic as always. She does well with the character voices and provides much needed emotion in the dialog.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I always have giggle moments reading this series. There are more than enough sad parts too.

THE HOLLOWS SERIES HAS CONTINUALLY IMPROVED

I found the earlier books just ok earning about 3 stars, enough to keep my interest but not great. The series started frustrated me with the decisions the characters were making. Just enough to keep my interest. As the series has progressed, I have come to enjoy the story line more and more. Rachael’s sarcastic no bullshit rebellious attitude makes her great protagonist. Jenks is just great and his personality is perfect. I have learned to enjoy Al and Trent. This book lets you spend more time with Biz and learn more about gargoyles. Marguerite Gavin has a great voice and her narration is perfect for these stories.

It just gets better.

What made the experience of listening to Ever After the most enjoyable?

I love this series! >>

I have really started to like Trent and Rachel together, the loss of Ceri really pisses me off though. And yet she kept Elspeth...Ah whatever, it all makes a really good book. I don't want this series to end although I know it has to at some point. Maybe this is it?

Rachel & Trent, Jenks and Belle...possibly! ;)

Exciting and sad!!! Totally enjoyed the book!! Rachel grabs the bull by the horns and also more! Newt comes more to the fore on this book...measuring her Everafter as it shrinks. Ku'Sox is back on the attack more then ever and Bis is learning more as Rachel's familiar! This series is better and better with each book. Though in the last one Rachel gets hurt terribly and beat up bad...she comes back fighting! More characters die (sniff) a few that will shock the socks off you. Jax is back, gotta feel sorry for the bugger but it is good he is. Ivy once again take the background on this and this is good. That Vampire lure thing was kinda freaky to me.
