In the summer of 1947, an unidentified object crashed in Roswell, New Mexico. There were no survivors. Now it's happened again. But this time, two creatures have emerged from the wreckage alive.

There are few things better than a good story well told!
Yes, if the friend was into action/adventure stories (Cussler, Rollins, Child, Preston etc.). There is nothing complicated here just a good adventure based on the myth (?) surrounding Area 51. And if you have not read any other Event Group thrillers you can still enjoy this story. Light but very entertaining listen.
Fantastic narration by Poe, and a fascinating ( if not at times somewhat unbelievable ) story arc. It's the mother of all conspiracy theory lovers books/series.
The supporting story for the Roswell Incident is entertaining.
Each character comes to life. An award worthy presentation.
I highly recommend this BOT, and urge Audible to upload the entire series IMMEDIATELY!
IT Project Manager in CA. I would say I am a Audio Book Addict...
A wonderful syfi adventure series. Well written excellent character development and imaginative stories. Also, the narrator does a excellent job.
The one problem is that we do not yet have access to the full series. Not only that, some of the books in the series have been skipped. The reading order should be:
Event -- Available at audible.
Legend -- Available at audible.
Ancients -- Available at audible.
Leviathan -- Missing
Primeval -- Missing
Legacy -- Missing
Ripper -- Available at audible.
If Audible had all of them I would probably add them to my library.
Thoroughly enjoyed it! I would recommend it to anyone. Give it a try you will not be disappointed.
I has as much fun listening to this, as I did reading it. Loved it and loved the voice for Gus and Matchstick - exactly how I heard them in my head when reading the book.
Yes, I would recommend it since its take on alien encounters is so different from most.
The way the author took popular ideas and wove them into the story.
Poe was at first boring, but when he began to speak for the individual characters, I was excited with his style. I will be looking into other books just because of his ability and gifts as a narrator.
Gus holding the green's hand, and then finding he was still alive. he thought he had lost a buddy, but was given a friend.
I have looked at this series several time and never took the hook, but the author has me now. I hope the additional books ill be as well put together as this one. I will probably listen to it again.
I'll be honest; I considered not getting this book based on some of the reviews, but I've read everything else my other favorite authors have put out so I took a chance. I'm glad I did.
I started with the first book in the series because I hate coming in to something halfway through, so I took a risk backing up to the beginning with this one because of some of the negative reviews from others - again, I'm glad I did.
The story lines the Event Group plots surround are reminiscent of the Alex Hunter novels, the Joe Ledger series, and even some of the Chess Team novels, all of which I enjoyed immensely. Outlandish to be sure, but with enough military and tactical action to keep me intrigued and there's always something lurking behind the scenes with the sub-plots going on. If this is any indication of the quality of this author's writing, I'll be enjoying the entire series in short order.
I wasn't familiar with the narrator previously either but I think he did a great job of bringing the story to life. All in all I've found a new author I think I'll enjoy and a great narrator to accompany him. It's worth the credit in my opinion!
