Gripping. Epic. Original.

Hesitant
At first I thought it was hard to get through until the characters came alive. Hearing the chapters from different points of view was confusing at first. Glad I finished it but sad to see it end.

5 Stars is not enough!
This was one of the best books! It is definitely going down as a favorite. I was at the edge of my seat screaming in the car at parts cause of the twists and turns. I loved it !!!!!

Epic as always
Just read all Sanderson's books if you like awesome epic stories. Its like living in their world. Everything always ties together and hes building a universe with his novels. Amazing adventures.

Good book, awful narrator
One of Sanderson’s earliest books. Comparing this to the Mistborn trilogy or the Stormlight Archives, this book is almost bland. Brandon has clearly come a long way as a storyteller, and is positioning himself as one of the better authors in generations. I would live to see him rewrite Elantris today, but here’s to wishing. Regardless, a compelling story and the first book of the Cosmere, so recommend.
The biggest negative is the narrator. He did a very poor job with characters, often missing the emotion and tone of scenes. Made me feel Ike he was reading through for the first time. Really feel this should be re-recorded by another narrator. Really ruined the book for me.
