Another Dresden hit.

Things just keep getting better. Not for Dresden of course, but for the reader. Narrator is fantastic as usual. Dresden's life continues to get more complicated, but as usual he finds a way to solve the problem. Good read, do recommend.

21 Days, 5 books in and I can't seem to stop!

A few years back I listened to the first 2 books in the series... I finally found my way back to this series and I must say book 3 grasped my attention and didn't let go...There are some really detailed and awesome comments out there... so my two cents may not provide anything of value to the general opinion. All I can add is to trust that if you enjoy stories about vampires (FYI... not the twilight kind), ghouls, ghosts. fae and all sorts of "other worldly beasties" then trust that the Dresden Files will deliver every time! No two stories are the same... the secondary characters are shuffled as needed with each tale. This one introduces us to Butters. I must say, Jim Butcher took the premise of a cowardly fellow and made him into an instant celebrity by the end of the book. I could go on and on but what's the point? If you are new to the Dresden Files... start from book 1 and enjoy the ride! Jim + James take this series to the next level.

A fricken dinosaur!

The narrator does a great job bringing the right feel to this character. The plot is definitely thickening for our gumshoe. Heavier and not quite so full of rollicking adventure as some of the others, but there are some excellent moments. And, there's a fricken dinosaur!

My favorite Dresden book so far!

I have been a fan of the earlier books in the series, but this one took it to a new level. The stakes were higher and the consequences are greater. The climax of this book is something that I will remember for the rest of my life, and I will never look at The Field Museum the same way. Jim Butcher's writing was exciting and suspenseful. James Marsters did an excellent job. I especially like the way he brings each character to life.

Keeping you on your toes

Would you listen to Dead Beat again? Why?

I would in a year or two, this book is a keeper for sure

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dead Beat?

There are many of them, it is good all the way, but I think when you are preparing for the final assault, the last few chapter are probably the tops.

What about James Marsters’s performance did you like?

Ha, he is excellent. He does the book justice, keeps it perfect all the way. Thanks James, it makes the book much more vibrant

Any additional comments?

Now this book is good, it is really good. If you like intrigue, unexpected and a good story flow, this one will do it for you.
James Marsters does an excellent job narrating the book. He keeps it very interesting all the way and does it honors. Thanks James.

Dresden rides to the rescue

I love reading the Dresden Files, but Marster brings the characters to life with almost a physical presence.

Never thought possible...

I never thought it possible, but the Dresden books keep getting better. The internal struggle in Harry continues to grow and completely envelops the reader with every page.
