Publisher's summary

Harry Dresden lives!

After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn’t all that bad - because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness.

After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long. And now, her word is his command, no matter what she wants him to do, no matter where she wants him to go, and no matter who she wants him to kill. Guess which one Mab wants first?

Of course, it won’t be an ordinary, everyday assassination. Mab wants her newest minion to pull off the impossible: kill an immortal. No problem there, right? And to make matters worse, there exists a growing threat to an unfathomable source of magic that could land Harry in the sort of trouble that will make death look like a holiday.

Beset by enemies new and old, Harry must gather his friends and allies, prevent the annihilation of countless innocents, and find a way out of his eternal subservience before his newfound powers claim the only thing he has left to call his own… his soul.

One of my favorites so far

this story really digs deep into Harry and the Winter Court and all of the darkness that involves them. But it also shows a human side to the FAE and gives more great history about them. This book would be hard to put down. A must-read

Another in the Bank

I’ve read all of the Dresden Files. Multiple times. And I swear to you, James Marsters was the voice of Dresden in everyone of them. And when I finally started listening to the audiobooks, it was seamless. This is just another great installment of the series. And I can’t wait to see what’s in store.

Love the Dresden files

One of my favorite series and love the fact that it has the same narrator through them all.

Excellent book in an amazing series

If you're thinking of reading this book and haven't read the series stop now and go start at book 1. It is totally worth it!

It's a Dresden book.

Marsters is back, thankfully, and Cold Days was one of the better additions to the series. It's hard to review these books individually since they all have a formula that just works. But I do have favorites....starting obviously with Changes....then grave peril and dead beat probably tie for second....and I would fit cold days in there at number 3.

Anyways, if you already a fan then this review is pointless, if you haven't read any dresden files yet then you are a horrible person.

Another Dresden Winner

Jim Butcher takes the reader on another wonderful adventure with Dresden escaping seemingly no-win situations. Dresden gets himself into very interesting situations as the White Knight with a target on his back. His friends (and a few enemies) come to his rescue more than once just when it seems Dresden's doomed for sure.
