Harry Dresden lives!

After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn’t all that bad - because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness.

After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long. And now, her word is his command, no matter what she wants him to do, no matter where she wants him to go, and no matter who she wants him to kill. Guess which one Mab wants first?

Of course, it won’t be an ordinary, everyday assassination. Mab wants her newest minion to pull off the impossible: kill an immortal. No problem there, right? And to make matters worse, there exists a growing threat to an unfathomable source of magic that could land Harry in the sort of trouble that will make death look like a holiday.

Beset by enemies new and old, Harry must gather his friends and allies, prevent the annihilation of countless innocents, and find a way out of his eternal subservience before his newfound powers claim the only thing he has left to call his own… his soul.

This Is What I Was Looking For Last Book

Absolutely great return from the dead with Dresden more powerful than ever before. With more mental, psychological, and physical conflict than most other books, Dresden returns with a bang. Power-wise this is what I was looking for last book, a very good addition to the series providing a new internal struggle for Dresden going forward in the series while re-addressing solutions to old problems. Overall one of if not my favorite addition to the series!

Awesome addition to the series

What made the experience of listening to Cold Days the most enjoyable?

I was disappointed in the last book but this one was certainly worth sticking with the series for. Was a great book with tons of action. I am also soon glad that they brought back Marsters to read this. He is exactly what Dresden should be.

Still Excellent After all These Years

What made the experience of listening to Cold Days the most enjoyable?

Maybe I knew what had to happen. There were hints in the last three Harry Dresden novels. I am sure the readers of Jim Butcher novels would not let Harry rest in whatever configuration the author had left him. We needed Harry Dresden to be reborn. The Winter Knight served all just fine.

What other book might you compare Cold Days to and why?

One thing that has happened to this reader is that I have lined up ALL the Harry Dresden novel and am listening to them again, in order. I am looking for the Gestalt that Jim Butcher, James Marsters and the listener, me, myself create when we get together. It will be awesome once I get a hold of that.
