An Epic of Two Worlds

In a world as rich and real as our own, Richard Rahl and Kahlan Amnell stand against the ancient forces which besiege the New World - forces so terrible that when last they threatened, they could only be withstood by sealing off the Old World from whence they came. Now the barrier has been breached, and the New World is again beset by their evil power.

War and treachery plague the world, and only Richard and Kahlan can save it from an armageddon of unimaginable savagery and destruction.

In Blood of the Fold, Terry Goodkind, author of the brilliant bestsellers Wizard's First Rule and Stone of Tears, has created his most masterful epic yet, a sumptuous feast of magic and excitement replete with the wonders of his unique fantasy vision.

Epic edge: listen to more in the Sword of Truth series.

The story is definitely growing on me

Between “the sword of truth” and “the wheel of time” the story seems oddly similar in some ways but different enough in others that it is still enjoyable.

Much better voice than the last one

I could listen to this man speak for days... in fact I just have, haha! The intricately well told story of Terry Goodkind once again wows the senses and brings my imagination flaring to life. His well versed words and incredible vocabulary bring about the thought that I, myself, may just be less competent than I originally thought.

The voice over was very well done, and he reason it gets 4/5 is that the actor gets tired some times and you can just hear his desire to do the voices wane as he drums on to the beat of the book. The first voice reigns supreme yet.

I cannot wait to hear my next book!!

Nice

I really enjoyed this book. There was so much depth in this book. Families being torn and challenged, friendships being forged from circumstance, duty and dedication, the need and greed for power, and love & magic! I was proud of the characters and it was a better write. I'm excited to know what happens next series.

A beautiful telling of a tale

Overall, this book was absolutely beautifully told and I would highly and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone that enjoys a story of a High Fantasy universe. Heroes and antiheroes, villains, monsters, Wizards, and a love across time. The only thing I can possibly knock on this is with the performance. And the only bad thing about it is the way the performer voices one of the monsters. I understand where he was going with it but it hurt my ears every time he did it. Other than that, I absolutely loved it.

But of the fold

I liked this book in the series better than the other two I listened to. The Misanderous Sisters of the light made me wonder if Terry goodkind had some bad experiences in Catholic school.

This reader is awesome. He is one of the best readers I have listened to. He does a great job telling the story with enthusiasm. He is also one of the best male readers I have come across as far as doing women’s voices without calling attention to the fact that he is a guy doing women’s voices.

I loved this narrator

I don't understand the negative narrator reviews. I found him to be quite pleasant to listen to, much more so then the first couple books. The first couple were very distracting for me as some of the voices made for certain characters were misplaced or bordered on absurd that I struggled to keep listening. The wisps voice just about had me throwing my phone and some of the strong women's voices were spoken with soft, submissive voices that were so out of place it drove me nuts. With Buck, his voice changed just enough that I knew which character it was speaking but not so drastic that I would cringe with the absurdity. I really enjoy the sound of his voice so I flew through this one. I did find at the end of the book he must have gotten tired as I did notice some strange things happening with character voices or the way he was talking but it wasn't nearly as much of a distraction as the issues I had with the other books. I do completely agree that they should stick to one narrator for a series. Every time I get used to one, the next is someone new and I have to adjust and move past a whole new set of irritants (outside of this one, I would chose Buck narrating over every other narrator I've heard on here). Its probably impossible to please everyone with any narrator but at least it would ease the pain to stick with one person through a series.
