Publisher's summary

Mechanic Mercy Thompson has friends in low places - and in dark ones. And now she owes one of them a favor. Since she can shape-shift at will, she agrees to act as some extra muscle when her vampire friend Stefan goes to deliver a message to another of his kind. But this new vampire is hardly ordinary - and neither is the demon inside of him.

Have Mercy: listen to another Mercy Thompson chiller.

Bit creepy

Mercedes comes into her own in this one as the instrument of justice with a side order of creepy from the vampire.

Demons are stupid.

Vampires, demons and werewolves, oh my.

Mercy is all kinds of trouble. Imagine that? This time though its not rally her fault. When Mercy goes to with Stefan as a favor she doesn't expect to be caught I'm the shares of a sorcerer. A demon ladened vampire who is line nasty SOB. This encounter however turns into a showdown of epic proportions.

Mercy, Stefan and the wolves are all put to the ultimate test of wills and strengths as they search for this monster. As with anything Mercy seems to get herself mixed up in, people get hurt and innocents must be avenged. In this case Mercy is the one to avenge them.

This opens her up to a new adventure and one she almost doesn't make it out of.....

Great series and super narrator

What did you love best about Blood Bound: Mercy Thompson, Book 2?

I love the evolving dynamics between Mercy, Adam, and Samuel in this series. In this book the demon-ridden vampire is really scary. The brief references to Stefan's feelings for Mercy add another interesting dimension.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blood Bound: Mercy Thompson, Book 2?

There are several memorable moments revolving around the hunt for the bad guy, but I particularly enjoyed when Mercy first realizes how much she is effected by Adam and the conversation they have as a result.

Have you listened to any of Lorelei King’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to Lorelei King throughout this series, and she is fantastic. Her inflection as she speaks as Mercy makes the subtleties of Mercy's personality come alive for me. She does the variety of female and male characters voices very well. I love Briggs complexity in her characters, and the detail in her creation of the paranormal world makes it very interesting reading. But when you add King's performance talent into the mix it makes this series one of my favorites.

Any additional comments?

If you like paranormal stories this series by Patricia Briggs with Lorelei King narrating is a great addition to your library.

Great story

The plot is awesome and the characters are believable, it's definitely a story you can enjoy and get lost into.... The narrator makes it come alive with its own feel and personality. Worth the credit or even the money.

Blood Ties

Loved the storyline and how the strong friendships overcame the differences. Fighting through adversities to accomplish whatever needs to be completed.

Second in a fun new urban fantasy

Really, I hadn't excpected to get hooked on a character that is a female mechanic/ shape-shifter who befriends werewolves and vampires, but now I'll have to spring for the rest of the books in the series. Lots of violence, so if you can't handle a bit of gore, these are not the books for you.

Excellent Story!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. It is so well written and the characters stand out very well, there isn't a two-dimensional one to be heard!

Who was your favorite character and why?

It's probably a toss-up between Mercy, Bran, and Warren. It's hard to pick just one. Due to the books being from Mercy's POV, I have more context for her and why she is as she is, so she tops the list right now, but neither Bran nor Warren are far behind. I just want to know more about them both!

What about Lorelei King’s performance did you like?

Her voices are so consistent and distinct. I have always had a hard time listening to audio books with only one narrator because I cannot follow the story if all the characters sound the same. Audio books are about the only way I can "read" now, since I can play them on the way to work. Lorelei King does many of the accents well in her books and I love that I can tell when a man is speaking and when a woman is. She even manages to make Jessie sound like a teenager. Kudos!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There is so much to pick from, but I love the realism that is incorporated into the books here. It really feels like there is another "world" intertwined with the one we know. I loved how Mercy acknowledges her own limits and doesn't rush in foolishly (at least not most of the time!) to confrontations.
