Publisher's summary

The severed head marked by a distinctive tattoo on its cheek should have been a Guild case, but dark instincts honed over hundreds of years of life compel the vampire Dmitri to take control. There is something twisted about this death, something that whispers of centuries long past... but Dmitri's need to discover the truth is nothing to the vicious strength of his response to the hunter assigned to decipher the tattoo.

Savaged in a brutal attack that almost killed her, Honor is nowhere near ready to come face to face with the seductive vampire who is an archangel's right hand, and who wears his cruelty as boldly as his lethal sensuality... the same vampire who has been her secret obsession since the day she was old enough to understand the inexplicable, violent emotions he aroused in her.

As desire turns into a dangerous compulsion that might destroy them both, it becomes clear the past will not stay buried. Something is hunting - and it will not stop until it brings a blood-soaked nightmare to life once more.

Dmitri was not a fave At First!

There are so many layers to him and to honor. You still get to follow the other characters as they appear and watch over the two. Blue Bell is still a crash causing beautiful Angel. I understood more about Dmitri after reading this. Including why he harasses the consort of his sire. Which I am sure seems excessive at times but necessary. Enjoy this wonderful continuation of the series. Nalini Singh has a wonderful imagination built for fantasy.

Loved it!!

How can this 1000 year old vampire find true love when he???s capable of luring any female he wishes to posses just his mere scent? It would take a real creative way to deliver a credible and plausible story about the taming of his none existing heart, but don't fear, because in an emotional, heart wrenching and beautifully constructed plot Ms. Singh takes us thought Dmitri???s torture past finding a clever way to give us heroine perfectly fitted for the task, she gives us another side of this enigmatic character that will make you reconsider the way you feel about him all the while maintaining the double edge danger that makes him the Archangels??? Blade.
The darkness, sensuality and violence of the world in the Guild Hunter series are beautifully conveyed by Justine Eyre intensity; her timing and approach greatly enhance the tension in these novels letting you experience every angle and emotion in this story. Her male voices are clear and masculine enough to bring credibility to the characters.
Just one small note to the first-time listener, I found in my experience with Ms Eyre, that it takes a few minutes to adjust to the tone in her voice that sometimes seems to have a little tremble to it, and honestly, her females voices could be a lot better, but within a few minutes of listening it is hardly noticeable and never interferes with the enjoyment of the story. All in all, this a very good portrayal of these characters and story.

The best of the series

This book focuses in Dimitri who is an interesting character all the way through the series. The change of focus was a good thing and made the story fresh. The narrator portrayed Honor as a bit irritating at some points, which I don't think the author intended. The story line is great. This book was very entertaining and worth the money I paid.

Great world and characters

Where does Archangel's Blade rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

As an audio book it succeeded and fails. The pace was nice and world becomes alive, but the character sounded awful. The accents were strange and forced. The handsome men sounded like trolls.and ghouls.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I'm a fan of all the characters.

Would you be willing to try another one of Justine Eyre’s performances?

Yes, but she needs to stop the accents.

I love this book and the entire series. The way Justin Eyre does Demitri's voice.... Just love it.

Damn

So I was a little hesitant to listen to this one, because it deviates away from Rafael and Elena, but I was curious about Dimitri so I decided to try it. So glad I did, because this is definitely my favorite so far. The series itself started out really slow and I didn’t know if I could hang on, but with every book, it gets better and better. I think the narrator does a great job with the voices.

Demetrius

This was probably the best book i've read in a long time. Even the best in this series because we got to see redemption for Demetrius. I love how the book Did the love prevails all thing but also had plenty of action, sadness and fast paced stuff with it

Dimitri's story is very compelling

Nalini Singh is up there as one of my favorite authors. This book did not disappoint. Dimitri's story is very tragic and it really helps you understand who he is today. Honor's story is horrific as well.

I love the idea of these two broken people finding each other and making a life together. The twist at the end did not bother me as it is a great way to give each of the characters a second chance to get it right.

I've heard some complain about the lack of sexual tension between Dimitri and Honor. I think this is a story in which it will build over time. This is a tentative dance between them and if there were overly romantic at the beginning, I don't think it would be true to their characters.

I'd love to hear more about their developing relationship in future books. I think another book on them would provide the opportunity expand on their story. Most of this book was about settling old scores and renewing their love. It was a terrific read and I've listened to it several times.

On the narrator, I love Justine Eyre's voice. I can't imagine anybody else reading Singh's books so well.
