Publisher's summary

Fourteen-year-old Augum and friends Bridget and Leera dream of becoming warlocks. But with a kingdom in total chaos, it will take courage, sacrifice, and an iron will to make that dream come true. The lord of the legion, a vicious tyrant, has overthrown the king in a relentless and murderous quest for seven mythic artifacts - and Augum's mentor, the legendary Anna Atticus Stone, possesses one. While Augum struggles with demons from a painful childhood, a betrayal puts him, his friends, and his mentor through a harrowing ordeal that threatens to destroy them all... and change the course of history.

Arcane, the debut novel in the fantasy adventure series the Arinthian Line, follows three friends as they navigate an ancient, abandoned castle, endure grueling training, challenge old mysteries, and learn that a bond forged in tragedy might just be the only thing to save them from a ruthless enemy.

I liked this book.

This is a good book suitable for all ages. The target audience is really for younger audiences, though I'm in my fifties and I enjoyed it. I think that fans of Harry Potter will really like it. It's a little cookie cutter, but still good. The narration was great. I recommend this for young people and those that are young at heart.

Excellent story

I began reading the second series on Audible without knowing this one existed. I contacted the author to find out if his second book of the second series would soon be on audible. He immediately emailed me back and told me of the first series.

It takes nothing away from this series having read the first book of the other series.

If you are a fan of the Harry Potter series you will like these books. These are not so childlike that an adult cannot enjoy them.. I am 57 and enjoy the series very much. There is so much that will happen by the time you get to the second series and you won’t want to put the books down.

The negative reviews I have read here have no merit. People grasping at straws to be negative as they do hiding. Behind a keyboard. They really have no merit.

There is action and danger around every corner but it isn’t a disgusting or scary read.

I am most impressed that this young author Sever Bronny could produce such high quality reading right out of the gate. I am very impressed.

Enjoy.

So, so book, good voice acting

Any additional comments?

The book has a consistent flaw throughout...time. Everything happens quickly...the character shift emotions and concerns at light speed, people...large groups of people, traveling by cart what is impressed as large distances....at some point you just can't ignore these flaws. Thinking back, I think the entire book takes place is less than a week...yet the newbie apprentices are fixing walls, finding lost tunnels with spells. Add to this, that everything is easily fixed with magic...that doesn't seem to have any limits, rules..etc. The only redeeming quality to the book is Stefan Rudnicki. I would recommend holding onto your credits for another book.

Great parental kinda to why....

killing everyone often really doesn't do any thing, especially when every one is, well..... worth less then a sack of beans... yet we spent so much time on them. Oh the whole good and evil being as black and white just wasn't black or white. Grandma really seemed like a bad guy that you were trying to make good by... actually having morals; yet her Values where clearly not...

This narrator should not do young adult books

I couldn't finish. Mostly it was the story, but the narrator didn't help, over-emphasizing childishness and whining into irritations.

Start to an excellent story

I’m glad I had the opportunity to read the first book in this series. I hope to locate the sequel soon. Brilliantly written with a twist to a classic plot.
