Publisher's summary

The #1 Bestselling series!

A QUEST OF HEROES (BOOK #1 IN THE SORCERER’S RING) revolves around the epic coming of age story of one special boy, a 14 year old from a small village on the outskirts of the Kingdom of the Ring. The youngest of four, the least favorite of his father, Thorgrin comes to learn he has mysterious powers he does not understand, that he has a special gift, and a special destiny. An epic tale of friends and lovers, of rivals and suitors, of knights and dragons, of intrigues and political machinations, of coming of age, of broken hearts, of deception, ambition and betrayal. It is a tale of honor and courage, of fate and destiny, of sorcery. It is a fantasy that brings us into a world we will never forget, and which will appeal to all ages and genders.

Books #2--#17 in the series are now also available!

Simplistic but endearing.

These books are definitely geared towards a younger audience but I have enjoyed them. However, it's one of the worst narrated book series I've come across. It almost makes the books impossible to get through.

Bring on the rest of the books

Any additional comments?

I thought it was a well put together book. Very easy to listen to and this story made me question the author a lot. I find that is ok as long as it doesn't take away from the story. I would like to see the rest of the books done and I will get them as soon as they are done. Strange enough I compare this to the Vlad Taltos Series which is very very good series of books.

Great Series

What made the experience of listening to A Quest of Heroes the most enjoyable?

I have already read all the books in the series and I enjoyed listening to the book in the car. However, it was a little harder to keep track of all the characters via the audio book vs reading the books. Great story line and keeps you captivated though.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Thor, who else?

Have you listened to any of Wayne Farrell’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first of his performances I've listened to

I love these books!

I love these books! Take a George RR Martin Song of Ice and Fire novel and shrink it from 40 something hours to 7 and this is what you get. They're so good I do wish they were longer, but I'll take what I can get. The narrator is fantastic! The only problem is that I've listened to the 3 they have online and I have to wait for the rest.

great world building

The story is well paced with likeable Heroes and an interesting world of swords and sorcery. The storyline has enough twists and turns to keep it interesting and a great ensemble of characters from all walks of life. I enjoyed learning about their personalities as well as hearing about their interactions.

So entertaining

The narrator was my favorite part. he brought these characters to life in my imagination. And, he did this without yelling so it made this audible book a joy to listen to while falling asleep.

Excellent Narrator

Where does A Quest of Heroes rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

In the middle.

Would you be willing to try another book from Morgan Rice? Why or why not?

Yes. Although I do find that "too much" happens in "too short" a time, nevertheless there was enough to make it interesting, and the $1.99 price for the audiobook (because already owning the Kindle version free) was worth it.

What does Wayne Farrell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I was skeptical about this audiobook, until I heard Wayne Farrell. He was well chosen. Does a solid job. And I was impressed with how well he could differentiate characters without resorting to any overdramatics.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If the activity allowed it, perhaps.

Any additional comments?

The marketing plan of offering a free Book #1 on Kindle, and then a $1.99 upgrade to Audiobook on Audible was a smart choice.
