The #1 Bestselling series!

A QUEST OF HEROES (BOOK #1 IN THE SORCERER’S RING) revolves around the epic coming of age story of one special boy, a 14 year old from a small village on the outskirts of the Kingdom of the Ring. The youngest of four, the least favorite of his father, Thorgrin comes to learn he has mysterious powers he does not understand, that he has a special gift, and a special destiny. An epic tale of friends and lovers, of rivals and suitors, of knights and dragons, of intrigues and political machinations, of coming of age, of broken hearts, of deception, ambition and betrayal. It is a tale of honor and courage, of fate and destiny, of sorcery. It is a fantasy that brings us into a world we will never forget, and which will appeal to all ages and genders.

I love the coming of age and quest fantasy books

Where does A Quest of Heroes rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I love this epic story it give me all that I need in a fantasy trilogy. the coming of age and discovery of self is magnificent. Though some actions are predictable I love it. there is not long details just action in every chapter.

What other book might you compare A Quest of Heroes to and why?

Terry Brooks Shannara books.

Have you listened to any of Wayne Farrell’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I don't believe I have; but I will be looking for him from no on.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes!! I found my self holding my breathe with hand over month and eyes wide open with fear. Self splitting laughter I like these books and am waiting with bated breathe for the last one.

Any additional comments?

I wish I could find more like this.

Good but...

Where does A Quest of Heroes rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The story is well written and very well performed but there is 11 books out in the series and only two in audio format I do not recommend getting this title until the rest of the series is out in audio format. The second book seems unfinished and stops at a bad point leaving the listener hanging.

Great story, wonderful performance

I recently purchased this title while on sale. The story is well written and captivating, the characters are very likable. After finishing the this title, I immediately purchased A March of Kings which also did not disappoint. My only regret in listening to these titles is that the rest of the series is not currently available on audio. Hopefully that will be corrected soon, as I can't wait to hear the rest of the story!

I have to agree with Rowling

My 12 year old daughter and I "read" a lot of books. This was one that I enjoyed as much as she did! We can't wait to finish the books (yet don't want the story to end).

Loved it.

Loved it. Just not my favorite.
Had to get use to the narrator; but I ended up liking his accent.

A Net of Suspense

Readers wil get caught up in the many plots of this story. I can't wait to untangle those knots of intrigue and get some answers.

A great start

The book is well paced and does a good job in establishing a new world for the series. Can't wait until the next one.

It's ok ...if you are 12 years old.

What did you like best about A Quest of Heroes? What did you like least?

I suppose the premise of the story is meant for the pre-teen genre. The story was totally predictable and boring after a time. A short while into the book, I noted several grammatical and chronological errors. I am already thinking this must be a self-published book. I pretty much continued to see just how many errors I would find and to see if there was any hope that the story might get better. It didn't. I can not recommend this for adults. Perhaps it would be suitable for readers 12 and under, but with caution that there are glaring errors scattered throughout the book.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

My reaction was relief that I got through it.

Do you think A Quest of Heroes needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I am not interested in a follow-up, because I found the book disappointing.

You may have to play it on 1.25 speed

Any additional comments?

This story is not overly complex, especially initially as things seem to just fall into place for the protagonist. The narration is obnoxiously slow, so I ended up listening to a good portion of the book on 1.25 speed. The best I can say is it isn't bad, but the story line does have potential if Morgan Rice can develop a bit.

ugh! I wanted this story over

I wanted this story to end. I struggled to get through it. Thor was down sandwiches short a basket. the characters had no depth; the storyline had no reason. I gave it 3stars because it was a book, just not a good one.
