Publisher's summary

It’s a common story. I’m sure you can guess how it goes. Girl winds up in the wrong place at the wrong time. She witnesses four gods of beauty and brutality murder some poor sap, and she’s stupid enough to get caught.

Come on. You know what happens next. You know they tracked her…me…down. I don’t need to tell you that they claimed me. Ripped me from my safe, perfect world, and bound me in chains to their throne.

All of that is obvious. It’s the part where they corrupted me, dragged me into their world of death and destruction, made me theirs in every way I didn’t know was possible, and became a soldier in a war that will bring all of Cinco City to its knees. That’s when it gets interesting....

Amazing story, writing, and narration

The story was so thoughtfully put together and illustrated. Many times I wanted to throttle some of the characters but it came together so well in the end for a HEA. One of my favorite narrators and she did amazing, of course.

missed opportunity

would have been much better if narrated by multiple people. would have been nice to hear "sin" in a deep chocolate voice.

Holy Moley

So many unexpected twists and turns! Definitely addicting! Not quite sure what to do with my life now that I’m done with it!

Lots of Good

Like what others have stated sometime it’s difficult to follow because the narrators voice is the same for males inner dialogue, and it is for Adeline.

There was a lot of good about the stories.

Didn’t enjoy the way the author claimed Adeline was so bad ass, but really she just had a good idea. She couldn’t back it up with skill, strength, or without help. For wanting to rule the city and “knowing” it so well, she was surprised way too often. She was captured entirely too much.

I hated when Jasper… or whatever his name really was said he was going to take custody of his daughter. He has no business taking her from her adopted family.

Minor grievances, but overall enjoyable.

Narration was confusing

The narrator needs to alter her voice for the inner monologe between male and female characters. Even the alteration between the male speaking parts isn't enough to easily differentiate between characters which makes it hard to follow sometimes. Great book and story line. Well written. Only complaint is the narration.

If you want to love this series, you will!

If you’re tempted to pass this series up due to narration comments, read this review first:

First, the issue w/ the narration is not a deal breaker. The complaints are not about Barne’s talent for voicing male characters - in fact, she’s one of the few females who can do this well. The complaints are about Barnes’ odd choice to use her female voice during the inner dialogue for all characters, and it can confuse you. But only for a line or two if you aren’t paying attention when it’s stated whose perspective is being voiced.

Again - it really is not a reason to miss out on what you’ll surely find to be one of the more original, impressively written, entertaining, and well narrated series in the genre. Every line of dialogue advances the plot. Instead of having to wait until the very end for a single shocking plot twist, Vincent writes a story like a theme park thrill ride: She doesn’t let you go far w/out a twist, turn, or both. Her true talent shines when, despite your best efforts, you repeatedly find yourself in a stunned state saying, “How did I not see this coming?!?!”

The answer is easy: Vincent really is that good and Saints and Sinners is one of her best works to date.

The depth of the character development!

There is so much to this story. Would have preferred a duet, though Addison Barnes is very good. There is as much violence as there is sex, and the sex isn't exceptionally graphic IMO. I like that each character was flawed and had an incredible amount of depth.

Good but could have been great

The story is great and the narrator is good for the female character(s) but the whole series is from multiple pov and there's no deferation in the narrator's voice which made it hard to follow. If there was a male narrator or the female narrator changed her voice this would be my favorite series.
