Mystery, murder, sex, and a ghost

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book, It has a non-stop story introducing plenty of interesting characters, with lots of mystery, sex, a murderer, and a valiant sword fighting ghost. The two main characters have personal hangups in dealing with feelings of love, and learn from each other. This installment wraps up their story, but leaves many unanswered questions with other characters, and that ghost is really intriguing. Well, worth the listen and I'm on to the next installment.

What a master story teller

Where does Wicked Intentions rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is the first book in her Maiden Lane series. I own them all and have listened to all of them at least twice. What an amazing writer. Funny, poignant, wicked, tender, unbelievably clever, she knows how to do it all.

Just order it , I will warn you however that you will become an Elizabeth Hoyt addict. Ahhh....such a wonderful indulgence

Good story, average reading

The story is pretty much what you can expect from Elizabeth Hoyt: rich, complex, sensual. I'm not a big fan of the narrator though - at times, she made the heroine sound like a complete ninny. Her masculine voices are not really convincing either. I'm a bit disappointed that the narrator will be the same for the rest of the series, but not enough that I won't listen to the rest of the series :)

I am a long time romance reader (more than 30 years. Audible where have you been the first 25 years of my life. This series ranks #3, and I am very hard to please.

good story

I really liked the plot and thought it well written. Hoyt is a good author and the series has many good stories.

If you like Christian Grey this book is for you!

The whole time I was listening to this book I was shocked by the similarities between it's story and that of "Fifty Shades of Gray", although it is a historical romance. Lazarus is very much like Christian Gray in the fact that he has to tie down his lovers, he also feels pain when touched. Temperance is a widow that is learning to accept that she enjoys rough lovin' and finds that side of her fulfilled by Lazarus. This book had some very steamy scenes! It was not all about sex it was also the build up! My favorite part is where he takes her to a bordello so that they can interview a boy about a murder, after the interview he takes her to an area where they can peak into the rooms with various forms of "entertainment". Just him standing behind her and whispering in her ear was better than a lot of books I've listened to that just dive into the love scenes. This book had a great mystery, amazing love scenes, well formed characters and a great conclusion. I will definitely be listening to it again and again!

I couldn't stop listening to this book, I finished it in 2 days. Great story and great narrator ( and I am very picky about narrators!).

Great romance with a better mystery!

Lazarus needs a guide, someone that the people in St. Giles to talk to him about the murder of his ex-mistress. He finds that guide in Temperance, a brave widow that runs a foundling home in St. Giles, but she needs money. They strike a deal and dive into a mystery of vicious murders as they learn about love.

Yes, if you like this genre of book I think you'll enjoy it.

What does Ashford MacNab bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love her style (accent).

Typical historic romance. Unlike the description of the wild sensual desires of Lord Caire, there isn't allot of sexual content. It is a good listen and if you like this type of book it's worth your credit.

New author for me.......

This was a new author for me and I did enjoy. The second half of the book moved a little more quickly than the first.
