Publisher's summary

With an irresistible blend of flashy style and offbeat humor, MaryJanice Davidson’s Undead books have become regular residents on the New York Times best-seller list.

Ninth in the series, Undead and Unfinished finds Vampire Queen Betsy Taylor slogging her way through the Book of the Dead. When Lucifer offers to give up all the book’s secrets, Betsy is intrigued. But there’s a catch, of course. For her part of the bargain, Betsy must take her half-sister, Laura, to Hell, so Laura can develop an appreciation for her dark heritage.

leaves you with a cliff hanger

Undead and Unfinished left me screaming for the next book in the series it really leaves you with a cliff hanger. If you have read all the other Undead books and enjoyed them then I think you will like this book also. It was not my favorite in the series but it was better than the last couple have been and I am really looking forward to the next book in the series. The narrator was the perfect voice for Betsy. Great book but I whish I had waited until close to the release of the next book to listen to because now I’m stuck waiting to find out what happens next.

Disturbing

Although I looked forward to reading another "Undead" book by Davidson, I was extremely disappointed and disturbed by the ending. The protagonist's total personality change at the end was too out of character to reconcile in my mind. I was sorry to have read this book and although I have recommended the "Undead" series to others, this is one to avoid.

don't bother

First let me say I loved the first Queen Betsy. I loved the second. I liked the 3rd and probably starting loving them again. This one stinks. Horribly. like undead flesh. (I imagine). I ended up fast forwarding through chapters just to get to the end. and when I got to the end I was nothing more than annoyed that I had used up that much of my life listening to this dreck. Do. Not. Pay. to. Hear. This. Wait until you find it in the clearance bin for 50 cents. It shouldn't be too long.

very discouraged

After reading"Undead and unfished" I was finished with your books. I was very dissapointed with the ending and how you turned a once decient character into an evil thing. You gave such life and humor to your charactes, I felt that the way you ended it was unfair to your readers. Through the entire series you taught your readers that there is more to a person than what a first impression might show. I am not sure if you intended humor or not but that is how it came off to me. To take that and end it with nothing more than evil left me sick. The ending (epilogue) of this book was completely unnecessary and I I will not read any other books that you may write in the future.

struggled to finish

If I hadn't wanted to read the entire series I would have skipped this book

SO annoying

Betsy got so annoying that I found myself yelling at the audiobook and couldn't finish it. This was the first book I listened to, and I now realize that I only got this far because I managed to ignore, or skim over how completely obnoxious of a protagonist Betsy is. I'm done.

So Disapointed in Queen Betsy

Do you hate it when an author takes your favorite character and ruins her? Do you love Queen Betsy's spunk, soul, irreverant behavior, and refusal to accept the stereotypical, evil nature, of vampires? Then DON'T read this book! While well-written, and ties up many loose ends in terms of character development - Tina, Eric, etc., this book's ending was a real let-down for me. Unlike the title, "Undead and Unfinished," this series is finished for me.

if you loved the others, you'll love this one

I was reluctant to purchase this one after reading the reviews. But I personally thought this one showed more imagination than the last 2. Yes, I've read all 9. And I'll probably keep listening to them as long as Mary Janice wants to write them. Escapism.

Girl, what were you thinkin'?

Wow - MaryJanice lost her character development in this one - it went from Betsy being sarcastic and amusing to being sarcastic and annoying, from Betsy being a little bit of an air-head, but a lovable air-head to being a pain in the neck. I don't like Betsy anymore, and I'm disappointed that a series I was really enjoying disintegrated so quickly.

Loved the book until the epilogue

*I am NOT going to post spoilers about this book.* I was getting tired of this series however I usually never abandon a series that I have invested this much time in so I read it anyway. I read this book in the hopes that the series would return to the quality it was in the beginning. Undead and Unfinished was a breath of fresh air in this stagnant series until the epilogue. After reading it I felt betray by the author. I felt like the rest of the book were all based on an evil lie that ended up with Betsy's selfish shallowness turning truly evil by her own creation. I want to warn any readers who are hoping to walk away with the usual warm fuzzy feelings about Betsy that you will not feel that way after this book. I am not sure if MJD can redeem herself after this book and I am not sure if I am going to let her try.
