Love is an act of bravery.
Retired Navy SEAL Alex Rojas is putting his life back together one piece at a time. Being a single dad to his young daughter and working at Hope's Crossing Kennels to help rehab a former guard dog, he struggles every day to control his PTSD. But when Elisa Hall shows up, on the run and way too cautious, she unleashes his every protective instinct.
Elisa's past never stays in her rearview mirror for long, and she refuses to put anyone else in danger. But with Alex guarding her so fiercely yet looking at her so tenderly, she's never felt safer...or more terrified that the secrets she keeps could put countless people in grave peril. The only way for both to fully escape their demons will take the ultimate act of courage: letting go and learning to trust each other.

Good Books Don't Promote Violence
While I enjoyed the main characters Alex (dog trainer & single dad) and Eiisa (woman on the run from crazy ex-fiancé), the dog (no idea how to spell his name) and Alex's daughter Boom stole the show.
There were some issues with the plot (a little too rushed, a few dumb moments) yet overall it was engaging and entertaining. The author is obviously talented so her books should just keep getting better.
"Romantic Suspense with Dog(s)"
I really liked the interaction between the people in the story - and with the dogs. All is not rosy-red and people are not perfect.
Atlas the dog is the key character of the book, bringing together the heroine and hero and saving the day again and again!
The switch between the male and the female narrator is really good. However, the pronunciation of the orders in German should be researched much better, i.e. "Such!" is not pronounced "Sugh" - the "ch" should sound like in "Loch Ness".
