When Cade Walker and Merrick Sullivan find Elle hiding in the cabinet of a gun store, they know they can't just walk away from the fragile woman with no memory of who she is or who tried to kill her. Merrick is training for the title shot in the heavyweight division as a mixed martial artist and can't afford distractions, but neither can he turn his back on the woman who tugs at his heartstrings. Elle feels safe with her two protectors, and the longer she spends with them, the more she realizes that she has no desire to remember her past - not when it could compromise her future with Cade and Merrick. Cade has his own set of issues when it comes to Elle, and it quickly becomes clear to the two men that for the first time in their friendship, a woman is coming between them. But what if they just kept her there? Between them. Where she belongs.

Will do anything for books!
Okay, so there could have been 5+ more hours on this one and no word on the next release date! I think I may go out of my mind!
Sorry, little freak out! It was good, writing was Maya Banks so of course, well written...that said...we didn't get much, didn't delve into the past didn't answer any questions. I liked the superficial side of their relationship development but really that's all I feel I've gotten here. I should have looked more closely at this one, I would have waited until they were all out.
So...worth the credit, yes...BUT WAIT until the others are out. I feel antsy and irritable now! I need something else to ease my wait.
Hot romance/Sci Fi we're so lucky to have Audible to feed our book addictions. I love walking my precious dog Sydney & listening to my books
Maya has done it again with this emotional loving menage. With most books that have this type of a relationship, the men have experience sharing a woman before they meet “the one”. That was not the case in this book. Cade and Merrick both want to protect Elle, but they also both start to develop feelings for her. The two decide that their friendship is too important to them and that the answer to their problem is for both men to be in a relationship with her. One thing I love about Maya is her steaming hot sex scenes, but in this book the sex doesn't come until much later in the story. If you are looking for a purely erotic book then this one isn't for you, but the fact that the sex took so long completely made sense with the story that Maya was developing between the three. The focus is on the emotional relationship between them and was really about Elle and her journey to get strong enough that she was ready to remember her past. I am eagerly awaiting the next instalment of this intriguing series and will be snapping it up as soon as Audible release it. :)
Banks’ descriptions are so vivid and inviting that you cannot help but picture the scenes that she presents. The story itself is also very well put together, allowing the reader the opportunity to come to know this very different world intimately. I also really appreciate how Banks wraps this story up, not leaving you with a cliffhanger as such, but at the same time leaves such an open ending that you’re dying to know what comes next.
These characters are very well developed. I must say that I absolutely loved the extremely different voices for each character and how consistent they stayed throughout. It made it extremely easy to get into the story proper.
This is definitely a one of a kind story amongst a sea of romantic suspense novels. I can’t wait to see what happens next to these characters.
I don't mind books that are unrealistic. Some are really good stories, but this one was so out there. There is no way 2 guys would share a girl in this way. The scenes where they are both having her at the same time... no way! This could have been a good story with more of a plot, but it was just so empty. Christian Fox is a fantastic narrator and that kept me going to the end of the book. Then there was no ending?? After reading the other reviews, there is no sequel. I wouldn't pay 2 cents to read it anyway. So bad.
Maya Banks can write a great story, but this isn't one of them.
The memory loss of the female lead should have been developed rather than just leaving it hanging. very disappointing.
Maybe, had a couple of duds now....
This book had potential but did not flow to fruition.
I felt like I had already read this book, but the others had a little more steam...Maya, I hope you're not running out of steam here. I think what really ruined it for me was the narration of the woman's voice. She sounded like a "female impersonator". Many authors are now getting into the dual narration..with women reading women's parts and men reading men's parts. Please please please consider this...I feel it makes a huge difference in the story!!!
This book was just Okay for me...just okay!!
The book really has little substance and it is another cliff hanger. Ahhh. When will author's ever consider that they can write a complete book and people will buy it? This isn't even close to the quality writing of Maya Banks from a year ago. Not sure what has happened with her writing but she used to be one of my favorites.

Back in the Sweet Series, Maya wrote Sweet Addiction which was a menage - 1 woman "marries" 2 men. Then she went on to the Colter series - upped the game to 3 men to 1 woman. (I didn't buy any of the Colter books - I'm just going by the publisher's summary.) Then there was Brazen - another 3 on 1 (based on the publisher's summary). Now with Theirs to Keep, she's back to 2 men for 1 woman. So tiresome.
I admit that I purchased Theirs to Keep so that I could write this review. The story itself was very predictable; very formulaic. Even if you take out one of the guys, it's still very weak.
As far as Maya's books go, I really liked most of the Sweet Series; likewise, the KGI series. I listened to a few of her Highlander books - also fairly enjoyable.
I think that an occasional book about a menage relationship is okay, but all these menages (especially by ONE author) is overkill. It's obvious Maya can't come up with an original plot anymore.
Other authors of erotic romances are jumping on the menage bandwagon, too. I guess it is the next frontier after BDSM went mainstream. I can't help but wonder if it will be the next frontier in our society as far as marriage is concerned.
I love being swept away by a new romance and thankfully Audible's ever growing Library means I get to indulge myself over and over again
Phew and OMG, this intense emotional listen really puts you through the wringer - Elle has been the victim of a horrific incident (a harsh beating, rape and being shot) that's left her with total amnesia over everything but when Cade and Merrick rescue her her life, body and destiny is completely in their hands.
85% of the book was about Elle physically and mentally healing thanks to Cade and Merrick's care, with the occasional bits of flashbacks, the affection and attraction followed by the deep emotional bonds and feelings between all of them as the romance inevitably flourishes, Cade and Merrick's personalities and businesses and laying the foundations of their joint relationships as they all look to the future.
10% was taken up with a pair of villains Cade and Merrick help arrest after a break in at a Car Lot and the devastating trauma that followed this act. Also, Merrick's training and everyone's ambition of him winning the Mixed Martial Arts World Championship, what that would need and the pressure it would put on their delicate relationships, then the eventual fight and outcome.
The remaining 5% was about tender, sweet, caring, passionate, lustful and sometimes just raw hot sex M/M/F.
There' a few secondary characters but it's mainly about three lives drawn together through violence but, as Elle's flashbacks become more intense, you are on the edge of your seat wondering what she'll remember next and how it will affect, and maybe destroy, this hard won close family unit.
Worth a credit? This is a Trilogy and the foundations have now been set, in book 2 I'm thinking more memories will return to piece together who Elle is and what happened hopefully setting the scene for the eventual and inevitable climactic ending in book 3. However, that's just my opinion but whatever they hold I can't wait. Not quite the usual hot n heavy steamy book we've come to expect from the talented author that Maya Banks is, but nevertheless it was a credit very well spent.
Good Books Don't Promote Violence
Maya Banks is such an entertaining writer that sometimes it takes a while to realize that occasionally her plots are unbelievable or characters somewhat inconsistent.
I liked the male "romantic heroes" Merrick and Cade; they were strong, protective, caring and respectful of Elle. I thought it was unrealistic that they felt absolutely NO jealousy toward the other, but loved how they didn't push for sex until Elle had time to recover from being raped and beaten.
While I was sympathetic about Elle's traumatic assault, I did not understand why she was reluctant to find her attacker, learn how to defend herself or get professional counseling. It was particularly creepy that when she had sex with Merrick & Cade for the first time, she wanted Merrick "to take control of her body". What crap!
For the most part, Maya Banks handled the subject of sexual assault with sensitivity (unlike the misogynist BDSM theory that women like or deserve to be raped). However, she was totally wrong in suggesting that female victims of violence could possibly enjoy being controlled or dominated by any man.
Maya, please keep writing stories about men who actually like and admire women.
"Adorable! Amazing! Heart Warming!"
I haven't read the the paper version so I wouldn't know but I loved this story!
the contrast of tough masculine raw grrr but the gentle tender sweet heart warming beautiful side of the love of the guys!
He is perfect! I really felt like I could image the guys when he spoke them.
He got the characters.... characters and temperaments to a tea! really good!
There's so many sarcastic funny bits that I did laugh out loud to.
There was also some really sad parts.... I was on the bus and had to stifle laughs and noises of err awkwardness and of utter heart wrenching sadness. right there with the characters.
I love this book, I am going to read this again! I love the main 2 male characters..... hurry up next 2 books!
