#1 New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Nora Roberts enchants again with this beloved classic about the passionate and headstrong MacGregor family.
Brooding loner Preston McQuinn's new apartment, like his life, is just the way he prefers it - dark and empty. But when sunny Cybil Campbell comes barging into his well-ordered gloom, he can't deny a grudging fascination with his bright, bubbly neighbor. Preston thought he'd closed the door on love for good, so why is he suddenly longing to open up his heart to his incredibly perfect neighbor?

Sassy dialogue, humor, and a great reader are important to me.
oh yes, this is a re listen as our gal Cyb is just so up lifting, she makes you smile. Now, if you don't want a listen to brighten your day, then this is not for you.
Cyb and the MacGregor because they have optimism. It makes you realize, if you take the time, that having a positive go get'em attitude pays off.
She make all the males yummy sounding. She did a fab job on Preston our hero. She is the MacGregor come to life! I just love all the scenes he is in.
I purchased this entire series all at once as I am a big fan of Ms. Dawe. I have not purchased the other classic series N.R. has released due to poor readers.
this book makes your toes curl, makes you laugh, and cry as our heroine evokes all these emotions for a 90's classic N.R. book. Nothing heavy, but owning this entire series makes you smile big time.
Near the top.
All of the MacGregor books by Nora Roberts are similar in style, each with the meddlesome patriarch stirring the pot. For some reason this one and The Winning Hand are my favorites.
The first time I heard Angela Dawe read was an experience for me. Each book she gets even better. She could make a phone book sound exciting. She's very adept at changing the voices, especially from male to female.
Cybil thinks McQuinn is down and out when she follows him to a bar where he plays a sax. Then she makes friends with the bar owner which angers McQuinn, resulting in an unusual walk home.
The whole series is a fun read. They are all individual books, but the characters run through them all. You'll enjoy them. Take a chance on some fun quick reads.
They just get better. & better! The MacGregors are the most wonderful family! !! Awesome
