Publisher's summary

The historic hotel in Boonsboro has endured war and peace, the changing of hands, and even rumored hauntings. Now it’s getting a major face-lift from the Montgomery brothers and their eccentric mother. As the architect in the family, Beckett’s social life consists mostly of talking shop over pizza and beer. But there’s another project he’s got his eye on: the girl he’s been waiting to kiss since he was sixteen.

After losing her husband and returning to her hometown, Clare Brewster soon settles into her life as the mother of three young sons while running the town’s bookstore. Though busy and with little time for romance, Clare is drawn across the street by Beckett’s transformation of the old inn, wanting to take a closer look… at both the building and the man behind it.

With the grand opening inching closer, Beckett is happy to give Clare a private tour - one room at a time, in between blueprint meetings and kindergarten pickups. It’s no first date, but these stolen moments are the beginning of something that could arouse the secret yearning that resides in Clare’s independent heart - and open the door to the extraordinary adventure of what comes next....

Love it!!!

I really loved this book! Beckett's character is believable, tough and sweet at the same time. Claire is the typical "Mom next door" The children in the story were really my favorite part... I cant wait for the next two books in the trilogy!

Lovely nice sweet book BUT Bad bad bad narration

What did you like best about The Next Always? What did you like least?

Like the story line
Didnt like the narration, absulotly at ALL

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Made me smile

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of MacLeod Andrews?

Anybody els who knows how deal with multiple characters and make me hear the difference. That is all.

Was The Next Always worth the listening time?

As a romance book, yes it was

Any additional comments?

I feel disappointed cuz the same narrater did the next 2 books!! I am not going to waist my money to get the rest of the collection and give my self hard time.

Interesting

If you could sum up The Next Always in three words, what would they be?

Different, engaging

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Next Always?

The engagement with the boys

Have you listened to any of MacLeod Andrews’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I do not think so.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Same as "Memorable Moments"

Any additional comments?

A little predictable. And was different for Nora Roberts. I liked it and was left with wanting to listen to the other two books. Which I will do soon.

As Mom Said: To Each There Own

Where does The Next Always rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I guess I differ from many of the others who hated the narration. I actually enjoyed it. I thought Andrews did a fantastic job and added to the experience of reading the book. Yes, it was a bit slow but I liked that. It felt right for a book about a small town. Things just happen a little slower in small towns they don't feel as rushed. I would also rate his ability to do different voices higher than some other narrators. The characters all had a distinct sound and I appreciated that. (Especially his narration of Murphy and the boys.)

What does MacLeod Andrews bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I liked Andrews' narration, particularly the differences between the brothers and the children. I could picture adorable little Murphy.

Another Best

I loved this one. I had already read the one where Iona meet Bol. I can't wait for another with these characters. The narrator has the best accents,i just love her,so easy to listen to.
I start and end of my day listening on the way to work and then again on the way home. it's the only time I do not mind traffic and in San Antonio TX there's alot.
