Publisher's summary

Life as a single mother was never easy for Vanessa Childs but she did what she had to do in order to provide a good life for her and her baby. Falling pregnant after a drunken one night stand at college graduation, Vanessa had no real idea of who the father of her baby was. That was until several years later she saw a familiar face on her TV. The man's smile was the same one that charmed her that night and his cheeky voice made all the memories come flooding back. It was then that Vanessa came to realize who her child's father really was and from that point on, life would never be the same again....

REALLY!!!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Vanessa, she was so freaking gullible...For her to have gone through so much in life she hadn't learned much.

If you’ve listened to books by Tasha Blue before, how does this one compare?

Never listen to this author before, but i will give her 1 more try.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Didn't like the narrator either, she was too monotone for me.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Absolutely NOT!!

Any additional comments?

This could have been a great book if Vanessa was less gullible and the narrator was replaced.

Love will find a way

Great book. Believable storyline and characters.
Jackson and Vanessa, and Tori, made a lovely family. Vanessa's life fell into Murphy's Law... if something can go wrong, it will.
To me, the moral of the story is 'Love will find a way'.

A Difficult Story to Follow or Believe

The story is rather boring and written as if coddling a sensitive individual. Also, the author makes Vanessa and Jackson sound as very close friends rather than love interests. Additionally, Jackson describes Vanessa in a way that would imply they had a close and intimate relationship before he disappeared. However, their romance was very short-lived with no background information as to how close they'd gotten; which doesn't not appear (or sound so).

Also, Vivian's attitude and hostility towards those close to her makes no sense. But, I don't think I'll ever find out as I do not plan to finish this book.

Also, whenever Vanessa and Meghan come up with ideas it seems that common-sense or things that seem obvious seem to elude the characters. Which doesn't make sense.

I did not like the story.

One night stand

Nice book and the narrator did a very good job. Love is the key. Keep up the good work.

Don't pay for this

I want my money back. The narrator is horrible, she reads like a 5th grader. The story is somewhat okay, there is a plot, but Vanessa acts like she has a bag on her head. because she ignores clear advice.

Confused

I was confused my the narration.. the lead lady is suppose to be black, assuming her sisters are black.. where was the dialogue for that?! Now not saying all black oriole sound a certain way, but these were straight up valley girls! Really couldn’t get into the book because of that!

I tried...

This book was not good. It had great potential but the characters fell flat. There were no descriptions of characters or elaboration of plot. The main character was very infuriating and she was very hard to follow. Jax was an okay leading man but very two dimensional. This book just needed a little more work and it would’ve been great. I also didn’t like the narrator. Maybe my opinion would’ve changed if the reading was better. Oh well...
