Publisher's summary

It's been 12 years since Tru Bennett last saw Jake Wethers, her former best friend and boy she once loved. Jake Wethers, sexy, tattooed, and deliciously bad lead singer, and brains behind The Mighty Storm, one of biggest bands in the world, left Tru with a broken heart when he moved from England to America with his family when they were both 14. Sent to interview Jake for her music column by the magazine she works for, they are both unprepared for the sparks that fly the instant they reconnect. Only, there's a complication to their instant feelings for one another - Will, Tru's boyfriend of two years.

Then Jake makes Tru a job offer she can't refuse - travelling the world with him and his band. But taking the job means leaving Will behind, and being on the road with the band means spending an inordinate amount of time with Jake. Is Tru strong enough to resist the delectable bad boy who once held her heart so completely, or will she willingly risk it all for one night with the world's most notorious womanizer?

The Mighty Storm Rocks!!!!!!

I was in the mood for a love story and that is what I got. I really liked this book, ok Tru was a little wishy washy and Jake was a bit sappy at times but overall it was a well written and nicely performed book. I can't wait for book two.

Very good BUT

I LOVED Jax! Tru was annoying at times. I don’t want to spoil the story too much but she was quite a hypocrite most of the time.

The Mighty Storm

Would you listen to The Mighty Storm again? Why?

I love Samantha Towle and was super excited to see this series available on audio. I love how it whispersyncs to my Kindle so I can listen when it is convenient and read when it is convenient and never have to worry about finding my spot. The Mighty Storm is the story of childhood friends who reconnect and find true love. Of course the one childhood friend happens to know be a mega rock star. There were times when I wanted to reach into my Kindle and shake some sense into the main characters, which means Samantha really did her job and created characters that felt real. The reader did a beautiful job capturing Tru and Jake and made the story come alive.

Love and Friendship Reunited

The Mighty Storm’ was a great audio listen story wise as it did sweep me up in to a wave of emotions and I liked it, for sure! The story starts off slow and it really takes a while to develop. I will be getting the sequel when it comes out cause I want to know how the story continues. The story between Tru, Jake, and Will was very close to being what I was hoping but it never did hit that high note. Although the story was good I was hoping for more as the turmoil that there relationship faced was barely touched upon. I think I was looking for more angst in this love story.

I did not like Justin Eyre narration in the beginning and it took me a while to get into the narrators voice as she sounded more like a snobby British girl then a common British girl working at a magazine that was trying to figure out our friendship and eventually love towards Jake. The male voices she did really didn't even sound attractive, but after a long while her voice was just ok and I got through the story.

Living the Dream

Where does The Mighty Storm rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very entertaining book. There are several rock star series out there now. I would say it matches up to them

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jake of course. Got to love the sexy rockers with a difficult past and finding the right girl to finally settle down with.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I do not feel the right narrator was cast for this book. The narrator, although very good, did not match up to the characters. She is a better fit for a Jane Austin type of book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reactions, but at times hard to put down. I listed to the book twice, so I did enjoy the story.

First book by this author

I really enjoyed the book. The reader's British accent really topped the story and brought. you could feel the emotions the characters went through. This is the second time I've listened to this book and now I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

4.5 STARS

Why oh why did it take me so long to listen this?! This book released 8 years ago and I am only now just getting to it and boy am I glad I did! This is intense, raw love story between two childhood friends that have found each other again. It is not an easy love story. There is so much angst, pain and drama but these two are soulmates and their HEA is inevitable but getting there was not an easy ride. Jake Wethers is a gorgeous, beautifully broken rockstar in search of his muse. The moment Tru Bennett walks back into his life things are not the same and he refuses to let her go again. There was A LOT of push and pull between these two and then there was the love triangle factor. The cheating was an issue for me. Tru knew what she was doing and she did it anyway and broke poor Will's heart in the process. I really felt for him. Regardless I loved it and devoured the audiobook in one day. The narration by Justine Eyre was perfection. I love her! She narrates with so much passion and heart and she did an incredible job telling this fabulous story!

Started out with such hope

The beginning chapters spelled out what I’d hoped was a rocking good fight against fate between two stubborn independent people. But then it took a right turn with a heroine who is spineless and so self-absorbed that I found very little to empathize with her. She and Jake are two codependent people, but she has no reason in her background—caring parents, no one has died around her, no violence. Yet she can’t make up her own damn mind with anything approaching logic or love for the ones around her. Her epiphany at the end is artificial because Jake has said as much over and over and she refused. I kept hoping for the first woman to make an appearance but it ended with a 14 year old girl.
