Publisher's summary

It's been 12 years since Tru Bennett last saw Jake Wethers, her former best friend and boy she once loved. Jake Wethers, sexy, tattooed, and deliciously bad lead singer, and brains behind The Mighty Storm, one of biggest bands in the world, left Tru with a broken heart when he moved from England to America with his family when they were both 14. Sent to interview Jake for her music column by the magazine she works for, they are both unprepared for the sparks that fly the instant they reconnect. Only, there's a complication to their instant feelings for one another - Will, Tru's boyfriend of two years.

Then Jake makes Tru a job offer she can't refuse - travelling the world with him and his band. But taking the job means leaving Will behind, and being on the road with the band means spending an inordinate amount of time with Jake. Is Tru strong enough to resist the delectable bad boy who once held her heart so completely, or will she willingly risk it all for one night with the world's most notorious womanizer?

Worst Samantha Towle Book Ever

I love Samantha Towle, but this book was utter crap... it started off good... I had high hopes for it... but then the continuous “I can’t make up my mind” with tru “I love him but I also love the other one, but I love him more” bullshit annoyed me. The narrating was great on the female part... the male sounded really nasally.. and every guy sounded the same... the story didn’t leave much to the imagination, it was really predictable.. and the sex was nothing like the rest of her books, it was lacking... For a hard core rocker I expected wayyy more. Tru was very annoying, she wanted to do wrong but also wanted people to feel sorry for her while inadvertently hating that they felt bad for her... She also did wrong, yet couldn’t forgive when she was wrong.... she came in knowing about the rock star life yet hated it AFTER their big final fight... it was lame, confusing and way too drawn out. Should have been 6 hours max, and no follow up story, smdh.

I loved both books in series- fantastic characters

Would you listen to The Mighty Storm again? Why?

yes and I have

Who was your favorite character and why?

tru bennet for loving jake enough to go to hell and back for him to turn his life around and make a good man out of him

What does Justine Eyre bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I loved the narrator she makes the book come alive

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

in the hospital when jake goes to his knees and starts to cry I cried too as it was so heart wrenching. The whole hospital segment was so gut wrenching and raw

Any additional comments?

these 2 books are right up there with my favorites

This book was WONDERFUL !

This book was such a WONDERFUL surprise ! I do not know the author. I bought it because I am a big fan of the narrator Justine Ayre. But I was pleasantly surprised! I am not agog fan of rock stars, but this book makes you fall in love with one! This book was so well written , exploring the difficulties in celebrity personal relationships. The plot was good, the interactions and the characters, all well well well written. I LOVED IT.
Moreover, Justine Eyre is such a good narrator, but with this book she had outdone herself !!! She did such an excellent job with this book. She improves each time I listen to her. Well done! I believe this book is part of a series , I can not wait !

Could have been shorter

The overall story was fine interesting even but it was too long and there were times especially at the end when I really wanted to smack Tru. I love that their relationship wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows but there was way too much angst. The fact that Tru was a grown woman but had not yet decided in her mind what she would or would not put up with was irritating. At time I just wanted to scream “pick a side for goodness sake “ Lastly was not a huge fan of the one sided story telling or narration. Would have preferred to hear both Jake’s and Tru’s sides of the story hopefully in two different voices

This love story about immature couple in the rock star world was entertaining and emotional.

Review with Mild Spoilers

Before you keep reading... there is no way I can explain my issues with the book without some mild spoilers. So, if you want to go into the book spoiler free, please stop reading. You have been warned...

I REALLY dislike stories that glorify cheating. I really don't think that true love can be born from deceit. This is just a personal preference. I thought the narrator did a great job with the female voices, however, every male voice made me cringe. The book does end in a mini-cliffhanger or HFN, so you do have to be ready to read book 1.

While I really liked the hero of the story, I didn't really find myself rooting for the heroine. Hopefully, she will make me take her side in Book 2.

*sigh* Jake, Jake, Jake....

Loved the story...Not crazy about the narrator. I know this is an English story, but the narrator does NOT do male voices very well. They all sound the same and like they are all gangsters, and VERY bored. I'm disappointed.

Ugh but ...

Not one to write a review.... I wanted to strangle Tru. Her up down sideways hypocritical struggle was infuriating. The author’s focus on a presumed infidelity was misplaced, ignoring the root problem/cause. Having said that I love Justine Eyre and always have. And...given my frustration and judging soon of the the reviews, Samantha Towle succeeded by evoking the emotion that ensured we all hung on until the very yup, predictable ending. Something to be said for that. Sooo, Will I read the second installment? Yes, probably but I need a break. And! Unlike Tru, I can walk away. XXOO

Loved it

I loved their story. Even though what happened with the boyfriend was wrong and sad, I still loved their story. I couldn’t get enough

The narrator ruined the book.

I read this book on my kindle before getting the audiobook at a discount. I'm so glad I did! The narrator's voice was annoying and did not fit the part. I would not have been able to finish the book if I had not read it first. The narrator's voice and performance is that bad. It's a shame because many people will be turned off by it.
