    "Interesting and enlightening"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to friends. I is very interesting to hear about the upper class in relationship to the servants. Servants were very loyal. I found it very interesting.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Maid of Fairbourne Hall?

When she was learning about how the servants worked so hard and found how unappreciative she had previously been

    Which scene was your favorite?

Several scenes were really good but I can't say I had a favorite scene. I enjoyed all of them.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would have liked to listen to it in one sitting however life does go on.

    Any additional comments?

I really enjoy historically based novels. For some reason they grab my attention more than others. I enjoyed this book very much

"Only just makes it as a Romance novel !!"

This was a good enough story and very insightful as to the servant's lives and duties but it just didn't have enough romance in it to ring my bell - infact it wasn't until the very very very end (I'm talking last chapter!) that they got together.

If it's a history lesson you want then this is your kinda book but if you're looking for historical romance then pass on this one and look elsewhere.

Would I listen to it again - No

Worth the credit - No - way too slow for me

I love to be totally immersed in a good story. I love the thrill of the middle of a great book. Thinking about it all day... wondering what will happen and then enjoying the conclusion. Nothing frustrates me more than an author who weaves an intense story line, builds interesting characters and then dumps me into despair by ending it all abruptly. Just hate that. I relish the "ahhhhh" at the end of a great story.

    "Downton Abbey mixup!"
What made the experience of listening to The Maid of Fairbourne Hall the most enjoyable?

I was listening to this read at the same time as watching the series 3 of Downton Abbey. I kept getting the story lines mixed up. They were so similar in the servants quarters. If you love Downton... this will make for a most enjoyable read.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the Masquerade ball at the end.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I found this book hard going. I did finish reading however to took much longer than others I have read. I felt this was a book that I had no trouble coming back to if something came up.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I felt the story whilst good was very drawn out.

Where does The Maid of Fairbourne Hall rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Not the highest but still it is a kind of book that I think all historical romance reader would enjoy reading

What did you like best about this story?

there is a lot of information about how servants work and daily chores and household rules. I was not aware how structured the household management was , and how class is still a ruling element between working people.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

That was the worst thing about the book. I am not a native english speaker, but even to my ears it was like a english course. very slow to let everyone follow easily. I sometimes check if I paused the playing because of the long silent intervals.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    No
