Publisher's summary

Christina Bennett had taken London society by storm. The ravishing beauty guarded the secret of her mysterious past until the night Lyon, Marquis of Lyonwood, stole a searching, sensuous kiss. An arrogant nobleman with a pirate's passions, he tasted the wildfire smoldering beneath Christina's cool charm and swore to possess her....

But the feisty and defiant Christina would not be so easily conquered. Mistress of her heart and of her fortune, she resisted Lyon's sensuous caresses. She dared not surrender to his love...for then, she must also forsake her precious secret...and her promised destiny!

My new favorite Julie Garwood book

Would you listen to The Lion's Lady again? Why?

Oh yes! I love Julie Garwood's books and my previous favorites were The Bride, Prince Charming, and Saving Grace. Somehow this book surpassed all my previous favorites by far. If I could give this 6 stars I would.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Lion's Lady?

When Lyon comes home to find his shoes on the porch. I laughed so hard during this and the following scenes! And the puppy scenes! LOL

OK, that was fun!

That was a ripping great story! Murder mystery, mystical happenings, authentic (and steamy) love story, powerful hero meets his match in his brave and undaunted heroine and all with a nice portion of witty dialogue and good humor. I fell in love with Lyon and Christina and know, of course, that they will live HEA!

I highly recommend this one.

A refreshing story!

Very entertaining story, I outwardly laughed in many occasions. very sweet sensual romance. the story very unique and original, after reading dozens of other romance novels, it was a refreshing change.
One thing is the narrator, she reads everything with the same rhythm and intonation, very frustrating, e.i. reading sentences: "she opened the door" and "she burst into tears" should NOT be read with the same emotion, but Susan reads everything with equal fervor, very strange. I wish they would've chosen someone like Mary Jane Wells, she would've brought this book to the next level, because the writing is actually really good, much better quality than a LOT of other romances.

If you like traditional Garwood, you'll enjoy this.

Julie Garwood is my favorite author, and this book didn't disappoint! If you've read and loved her other books then you'll love this one too. Also, I really enjoy this narrator. Susan Durden(sp) has a great voice and I thinks she does the characters spectacularly.

Really Good

Very good read and I can't wait to read the other books in this series. At first I was thinking that this book is just another one of those that you listen to but your heart is not set upon it. From chapter 1 to finish I was intrigued and excited for more. I was hoping that the section with her father who was supposedly dead but actually was alive, was longer and more detailed. But it was great all the same! Susan did a wonderful job overall but more with the character voices.
