A devoted mother to three daughters, she runs her household like clockwork, is President of the P&C, owns an extremely successful Tupperware business and is happy in her 15-year marriage. Until she discovers a letter in their attic labeled: "To my wife Cecilia, to be opened in the event of my death".

"Hauntingly beautiful, a story that lingers"
If you could sum up The Husband's Secret in three words, what would they be?

    What if ?

Who was your favorite character and why?

The book follows 3 women, all of which you come to appreciate for different reasons

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It's moving as it shatters pre-conceived ideas and sets one off on a "what-if" mind spin. Refreshing and emotionally challenging.

    Any additional comments?

Elegantly written, worth reading. I'll be reading several more from this author.

    Story
"Kind of glad I don't have kids after reading this"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. I loved how the book shows that even the smallest action can have great consequences and that rash actions can change lives forever. It also made me wonder what I would do -- I don't have kids so my world is fairly black and white on certain subjects. This book showed me the greys.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Cecelia. Her responses and reactions were the most genuine out of the three women.

What does Caroline Lee bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I could get a real sense of each woman's personality, I think. More so than if I had tried to imagine them when reading the book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Well, there is that bit that makes you raise an eyebrow... and I was pretty sad in one of the key scenes.

    Any additional comments?

Rachel started to annoy me fairly early and in the end I really disliked her. Tess too but not to the same extent. I think her story wasn't as credible as the other two and wondered why the author wanted her in the book.

"Makes you want to listen to the end"

It' starts with a series of dis-jointed characters that you wonder how they can be connected but the story knits together beautifully. The end is is materpiece in not prejudging conclusions, can' t recommend highly enough

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I've just bought this audiobook and I am very disappointed with the quality of the audio.
It's a little bit of a shame because the narrator, Caroline Lee, is absolutely fantastic!

"Not as gripping as I thought."

Not at good as the hype and build up to this book. I felt that the ending was a bit predictable and flat.
Narrator was very good and I enjoyed listening to her voice on my way to and from work.

    "Really good!"

This was a really good listen! I couldn't put it down. Not your typical story. I found the humour and observations of human behaviour wonderful. The story speeds along and it kept me I curious about what was going to happen next. The narration was very good and suited the book. Overall a very good listen which I would recommend.

    "A simple book"

I was kind of underwhelmed by this book. It is an easy enough read however it was far from a page turner. The characters are simple, the story line is simple. The characters intertwine in a mediocre way, however they are likable.

On the plus side the narration is good.
