After her ill-fated attempt three years ago to rescue her twin sister, Janet of Mar has found salvation acting as a royal messenger - until she surrenders to a darkly handsome warrior whose rough, sensual kisses stir feelings the woman in her can't deny. But when betrayal leads to danger and a crucial communiqué is put in jeopardy, Janet has no choice but to put her faith in the hunter who can find anything-perhaps even her heart.

    "Wonderful!"

I honestly thought that listening to a romance novel would be awful and incredibly awkward. However I've been driving a lot recently to visit my fiancé in another state and needed something more than music to keep me awake so I gave this a try.

Thankfully this book was amazing and wonderful!! The story is fun and the narrator was easy to listen to. I found myself enjoying this novel more than I had the others in series when I simply read them. Not to mention I found myself making more excuses to listen, so that I could find out what happened next in the story!

I will be purchasing more of the highland guard novels from audible in the future and I would highly recommend this one to anyone looking for their next romance novel!

    "Very good"

I love the series. I like historical facts intertwined in the book. I found one discrepancy regarding Mary of Mar and the Earl of Atoll but I can excuse that as the author's depiction of Atoll's death was right on. A great book of romance, history and Scotland. (I wish authors would leave more to the imagination regarding sexual 'liaisons'. I would like books to be less sexually explicit, but that is just my opinion).

"This 'Mar' Twin Was Much More Exciting!"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend it because Janet of Mar and Ewan Lamont made sparks fly. I absolutely loved Janet of Mar's personality and sense of honor. She was a great leading lady, 10 times better than her sister from The Recruit. Ewan was great but Janet was the star of this one.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Janet of Mar. She was defiant, determined, and willing to risk her life for what she believed in.On the flip side she was also vulnerable and still an innocent despite her age. I enjoyed seeing her evolve and especially loved how she went after what she wanted (Ewan).

    Which scene was your favorite?

When Ewan realized who Sister Genna was, he was furious!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    The Hunter hunts the Nun
