Laird Jamie Montgomery is a warrior with a mission. When he travels to the northern Highlands on the orders of William Wallace, temptation in the form of an alluring lass could be his undoing. Lady Lorna Sutherland can't resist the charms of one irresistible Highlander. Though she's been forbidden, she breaks every rule for the pleasure of his intoxicating embrace. When their love is discovered, Jamie is tossed from Sutherland lands under threat of death. But danger can't keep the two of them apart. No matter what perils may try to separate them, Lorna and Jamie swear they'll find a way to be together.

I love Epic Fantasy....have become a Historical Romance fan because I am a sucker for a good Happily Ever After. Good characters are a must
i enjoyed this book but wasn't blown away. It was a nice way to round the series out with a story that took place before all the other books in the series. You could read it first and nothing would be given away.
Really sweet medieval story of alliances, honor, war and forbidden love. Both leads were easy to like. Lorna had a small case of shrewitis but she got over it fairly quickly. Jamie Montgomery *Sigh* - What can I say? He's everything a girl could expect in a highlander. Secondary characters were there but not as prominent, except for Magnus (IMO). Reading this is making me re-visit the series. It was a sweet HEA. Recommended! 4.5
In terms of chronological order, this story is the first. If you look on Amazon it is clearly described as a prequel although it is marked as #7 in the series, so I’m not sure why Audible hasn’t done the same. The story stands alone, so I think it would be fine to listen to it first or last. It was a cute, light story but average. I preferred some of the other stories in the series that had more going on in them.
according to audible this is book 7. But according to the series this should be book 1. I was very disappointed to listen to this book when I knew what going to happen.
