Publisher's summary

His powers - inhuman; His passion - beyond immortal. All her life, Ashlyn Darrow has been tormented by voices from the past. To end the nightmare, she has come to Budapest seeking help from men rumored to have supernatural abilities, not knowing she'll be swept into the arms of Maddox, their most dangerous member - a man trapped in a hell of his own. Neither can resist the instant hunger that calms their torments...and ignites an irresistible passion. But every heated touch and burning kiss will edge them closer to destruction - and a soul-shattering test of love.

I love this series

I loved this book, and the narrator was excellent. As soon as I finished this one I started the next.

this is actually a good story .. BUT

I wanted to SCREAM at the narrator to get on with it at times. He pauses and reads in such a monotone that it ruins the action. His voice drops you into such a dark depression that it sucks every bit of joy from what could be a really good listen.

I guess I'm going to have get the rest of the books on my reader to escape his voice since I see he's been allowed to read the rest of them too.

From now on, I'll make sure he's not the reader before I purchase a story.

A good story

I had no idea what this book series was about but thought 'what the heck'! As it turns out, the story was good, I did like the characters and definitely like the author. On a personal note, I try not to let myself be swayed by other reviewers opinion of the narrator because sometimes that's a personal preference, but this was a little hard to listen to. However, it is a decent enough story and I enjoyed the book overall.

A little lite reading

I liked it will read about the other others in this book but it was very quick. I tend to like ones that are alittle longer.

LOU

Great way to start a series. Lots of introductions to lots of characters. I'm up to date with this series but wanted a reread , so, an audiobook was a great idea.

Deja Vu all over again????

I enjoyed this book ok. It seems so like the black dagger brotherhood though. I have listened to several of those. I mean it really seems like them just saying. ( ps they are better)

good book over all

I ended up enjoying this book in the end. Though hearing the thought process of the main charters was a bit excessive at times. In many cases it did help explain things, but even after the explanation was given it keep going on and on.
Also I don't know what was up with the random music in this audio book. It would happen at the most oddest times to where your couldn't hardly hear the story. I would defiantaly suggest getting ride of that audible.
over all though I did enjoy the story and the ending leaves you wanting more.

beginning of a good series

I really was happy to fine a new series that caught my interest. Maddox and Ashland are really a great couple, and the calm that each brings to the other is really nice. If you like demons and the supernatural, give this series a try. I've read the first 5 books and the presequels, and they all are good. Try this one. It's worth the credit.
