Publisher's summary

In New York Times bestselling author Emma Chase's sizzling and hilarious debut novel, Drew Evans - gorgeous, arrogant, irreverent, and irresistibly charming - meets his match in new colleague Kate Brooks.

Drew Evans is handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York's most beautiful women with just a smile. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed? He'll tell you he has the flu. But we all know that's not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew's father's investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy's life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Tangled is not your mother's romance audiobook. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

I was very pleased with the story and the reading . The story was not what I expected. I'm pleased to report it was much more. I actually enjoyed the male perspective.

Laugh out loud book

Where does Tangled rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I absolutely loved this book. The narrator had a great voice and I felt I was watching a movie. He really read the part well

Which scene was your favorite?

The thanksgiving scene was by far the funniest for me

Love a man's POV

I don't know why I waited so long to get this book. It was a nice change to have a man's POV of a romance story, and all his sarcastic thoughts. This is going to be my go to book when I need a good laugh.

Enjoyed

I really enjoyed this book. I liked how the playboy had to work for the tough and independent woman. I have to admit that I almost didn't finish it. I started the audible and then took a break for lack of interest. When I picked it up again I really couldn't put it down. Better than I thought.

Fun!

This was a funny rom-com. I have to say, I'm glad the author started by making us see Drew as a sad sack. Otherwise, I would have hated him because he was egotistical and a real player. But we started the story with him suffering from a lost love, aka, the "flu". The story then reveals how he and Kate meet, how they become at first, enemies and then lovers. It was hilarious how clueless Drew was and overall, there were moments I wanted to just kick him but he was, eventually, he became quite a sympathetic character. Overall, it was a fast-paced amusing story.

Sebastian York narrated the audiobook and it was well done. Since the book was told from Drew's POV, it worked to have only one narrator. However, I did think there were moments when his voice wasn't consistent for each character (ie when he was playing a female character vs a male character.) Overall, though, I enjoyed the narration.

Fluff - good light read

Spoiled rich guy meets the girl of his dreams. She’s not interested. He finally gets her attention, then screws everything up.
The neat part is how the story is told, and how the main character will step back and add tidbits of funny stories. It works.
There’s no deep meaning hidden in the plot, no real surprises. But the niece is an adorable character, and Sebastian York could read a cookbook and people would pay to listen.
Not sorry I bought it, but I’m unlikely to listen to it twice.

One of my all-time favorites

I recommend this book because:
1) I laughed all the way through.
2) Eight hours of Sebastian York. Just him. No other narrators.
3) I am in awe of how Emma Chase crafted the sole main character sound like a guy created him.
4) The entire novel is told from only the male lead's first-person POV. It's a refreshing change.
5) Sebastian York might have been born to perform the lead character, Drew Evans.
6) I enjoyed this story so much I listen to it again and again.

Keep in mind that the narrator in any first-person POV is inherently unreliable because we experience the world only through that character. Drew Evans is so unabashedly biased that no one is more surprised to fall in love than he is (he thinks he's got the flu for crying out loud), and experiencing the process through his eyes is hilarious and touching. As character arcs go, Emma Chased kept me going until the end. Sebastian York's performance is so outstanding, I recommend the audio book over the print version.

awesome listen 👏 👍

This is a good story to pass the time. Sebastián York is the perfect 🥰 narrator. He does a great job that brings this book to life.

The story is well written however it does have some moments that were unbelievable. How he spends money 💰 🤑 like crazy to pursue her.

Overall, the book 📖 is highly recommended.

Enjoy
