It was a pretty good story, lots of intrigue & well drawn characters. Only a suggestion of sex, nothing explicit at all. It was a little heavy on the god/faith aspect for my taste, but certainly that kind of thing was appropriate for the times, so I can't complain too much, I guess.

    "Forgivable?"

So, I listened to this entire book and mostly really enjoyed it. I found it got much too too preachy! I appreciate that religion had much to do with the lives and lifestyle of the peoples in that time so strongly. But I just do not need quite so much of it in my romance novels.... I'd choose Christian books if that's what I wanted!!

Anne Flosnik is a interesting narrator. At first the whispering way she delivers her performance is very irritating.... I have to force myself to listen, but soon enough she fades away and I only hear the story, its characters and the drama of it. It was such a good story!!

    There is NO sex....

Creditworthy? Probably. Would I rush to buy another from this author? Probably not in a hurry.

Where does Sword of Forgiveness rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Pretty high up in the rankings of the books I've listened to. I will probably listen again to it someday.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Brithwin was my favorite. She was strong, even after all she had endured. She also had much more to endure throughout the story.

Have you listened to any of Anne Flosnik’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I don't believe that I've listened to this narrator before. At first, I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy the narration of this novel. However, after about a chapter, I decided that I really enjoyed this narrator. She did a great job with the voices and was a very enthusiastic narrator.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Once I reached the halfway point in the book, it was very hard to set it down.

    Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed this story and hope that another book in the series will be released soon.

What made the experience of listening to Sword of Forgiveness the most enjoyable?

The wonderful narration of Anne Flosnik, her ability to give life to each character is always amazing

    Any additional comments?

Brithwin and Royce, two honorable people forced to marry by the King, lies, mistrust and outside forces threatens them both. Brithwin's faith helps her survive and finally gives Royce back his faith. Looking forward to more of Debbie Lynn Costello books with the narration by Anne Flosnik of course!

    "How to Marry Your Enemy!"

For avid listeners like me, the mark of a good book is a sleepless night, because you just don't want to hit that pause button! This book is one of those.

Brithwin is an honorable woman forced to marry an honorable man Royce, it's just a shame that through an unfortunate set of circumstances, neither one knows the other is honorable!

Amazingly through a series of misadventures, usually caused by Brithwin's innate sense to always do the noble thing, they learn to trust and put their lives on line for each other! Thank goodness Brithwin has her faith in God and eventually Royce to see her through!

This is the first book, in what I hope will become a series, available on Audible by Debbie Lynn Costello and to have Anne Flosnik narrate this historic English novel, what a coup! It doesn't get any better than that.

Buy or credit you won't be disappointed.

    "LOVED This Audio!"
What did you love best about Sword of Forgiveness?

I loved this story and I loved hearing Anne Flosnik narrate. This novel and the time period are intriguing! This book is so captivating, that I will definitely read more books by Debbie Lynn Costello and listen to Anne Flosnik again.

What other book might you compare Sword of Forgiveness to and why?

I don't know if it really compares, but I kept thinking of Romance of the Forest by Ann Radcliffe. This book made me want to reread it.

Which character – as performed by Anne Flosnik – was your favorite?

I fell in love with Brithwin, and by the end I loved Royce. Anne did such an excellent job narrating! Between her narration and the story of Clarice, I couldn't STAND Clarice!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I REALLY wanted to listen to this in one sitting, but had to settle for several sessions.

    Any additional comments?

I will listen to this again, and am even considering buying the book so that I can pass it around.

    Story
    "Great romance, great mystery!"

Folks, I've read Lisa Kleypas, Mary Balogh, Alexandra Potter... and let me tell you, lady Debbie is right on par with these artists of romance!

In this story, a younger son of an estate is ordered by the king to marry the heiress of a neighboring one. After some traumatic news, he's suspicious of many people... including her. She has her own deal of problems and a past full of hurt, but maybe with the help of faith in God and loyal servants, they can find peace, solve a murder... and maybe even find love!

Though both the main characters are quite likeable, my nod goes to wonderfully drawn supporting cast of servants, maids and friends of our hero and heroine. They make this story truly rich.

Give this book a read, or a listen. You're going to love the plot twists, they are very nicely set up. The author gave me hints all along, and only in the end did I find out that... Well. Find on your own!
