Publisher's summary

The New York Times best-selling author of Beautiful Bastard, Beautiful Stranger, and Beautiful Player starts a brand new story of friends, love, and lust with Book One of the Wild Seasons series.

One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him.

But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation - and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out - Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume - her sweet, filthy fling - to France for the summer and just…play.

When feelings begin to develop behind the provocative roles they take on, and their temporary masquerade adventures begin to feel real, Mia will have to decide if she belongs in the life she left because it was all wrong, or in the strange new one that seems worlds away.

Awesome! Funny, Hot and a good read!

This was my first book by Christina Lauren (its actually written by 2 authors named Christina and Lauren which I found interesting!) and I loved it! I will definitely be downloading the Beautiful Bastard series asap. If it's as good as this one, I will be a happy reader.
I found this story easy to listen to. It had sweet romantic moments, heartfelt emotional moments and of course the hot and heavy moments!
I believe this may be the beginning of a new series and I really look forward to reading the next one.
I would totally recommend it and would give it a 4.5!
Happy reading!!!

Terrible book title, fun read!

Extremely 🔥🔥🔥 book with a fun plotline but lots of real life relatability. Did not like the narrator at all. Her inflections and tonality almost ruined it for me.

Loved the story and loved the CHARACTERS!!!

Christina Lauren books are absolutely delightful. I fall in love with each and every story and all the characters I meet along the way. Dark Wild Nights did not disappoint. Lola and Oliver's love story swept me away, comic book loving nerds and all. Christina Lauren has this amazing ability to somehow let me see glimpses of myself in each of their characters which is why my heart always clenches for their struggle, their fears, their hopes and their reasons for loving each other.

Sexy comic store owner Oliver and sweet, smart comic writer Lola are the best of friends. Their attraction to each other goes unspoken until one sunny morning when Lola finds herself sketching a nearly naked Oliver. This scene is when I fell for Oliver and his ability to rescue Lola in the most subtle of ways. Oliver is strong and steady and such a good guy. Lola is funny and genuine. I related to the way she struggled with balancing her need for things to happen at the right time and accepting that there isn't always a perfect time. I also identified with Lola falling in love and being so completely consumed that everything else in her life was pushed aside. It's a work of fiction but some of the struggles are very realistic.

Shayna Thibodeaux does an amazing job with Christina Lauren characters. I seriously just LOVE her because she narrates it just how I would if I was reading. Shayna is perfect! I also enjoyed Steve West as Oliver. I did find it a tad distracting from the story when he read the lines of any dialogue from the ladies. When men narrate women's lines I wish they would just do it in their normal voices. They always sounds silly and come across as small little girls instead of the strong characters Christina Lauren has created. Overall I thought Steve came across as a realistic Oliver.

I am sad that it had to end and I can't wait for book four!

Sweetly Surrender to this Sexy Showpiece

Surpassed expectations. Adoration for "Frenchie". Hope the series expands. Just the right amount of bringing sexy back to a storyline. BFF's rocked and were written realistically as supportive besty's should be. Pivotal point really came at end when ex-girlfriend emerged. M's. Lauren knows how to write an impactful villain with just a few strokes of the pen.

Absolutely Adorable

Absolutely adorable — and if you like hot sex scenes, it’s half the book — but it’s not like wham bam whack, the scenes are cute, funny, inventive. And it’s got a little bit of a Shades of Gray thing going on. It’s also about being honest with yourself, being straightforward with everyone else— basically it’s a well-written, character-driven, sweet & sexy romance. I think this series is when Christina Lauren really started upped their game and the romances weren’t just cookie-cutter, fill-in-the-blanks genre things, they actually had different plots, quirky and interesting characters, and the dialogue was really funny — sometimes actually truly laugh-out-loud. And they keep getting better. Romance is such a guilty-pleasure category, like easy-listening smooth jazz, or elevator music, but I don’t feel like an idiot for reading Christina Lauren to just veg and escape after a handful of “literary fiction” (classics or contemporary) — sometimes you just want to go to France and 23 again, right? Well, this book is your ticket! Happy listening, happy dreaming! ;)

I think I am in love with Ansel

This story is awesome. It tugs at my heart because every woman can relate to Mia and every woman wants an Ansel in their life. This was a great love story. I was so upset with Ansel at the end when he didn't tell Mia about his ex fiancé. He could have avoided all of the drama if he had just been honest. Other than that drama this book was awesome and it is worth the credit or purchase.

Z surprise me on how much I liked!

I picked this audiobook up on the first series sale from audible no expectations. I ended up loving it and listening to it practically all the way through in one sitting. I must love coming of age (or when you become a grown up moments) even though that was a lifetime for me in the past, but I thoroughly enjoyed these two's journey. I really like the narrator's voice especially when with Ansel's cute French accent. I have been known to stop listening to a book if I can't get into the narrative's groove but definitely not this one.
