Publisher's summary

A full-length, standalone romance from the New York Times bestselling author of Archer's Voice.

Grace Hamilton was the girl with a plan. She knew exactly where her life was going and prided herself on always achieving her goals. It was who she was, and how she lived her life. She never stepped outside the lines, and never considered what she might desire and whom she was actually trying so hard to please. Until him...

Carson Stinger was a man who didn't play by any rules except his own. Working in the adult entertainment industry, he didn't care what others thought, and took each day as it came, no direction, no plan. He knew what women wanted from him and believed it was all he had to offer. Until her...

When circumstances forced them to spend several hours together, they walked away changed. But for two people who never should have meshed, overcoming the reality of their vastly different lives wasn't possible. At least not yet...

This is a standalone Sign of Love novel, inspired by Scorpio.

Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for listeners under the age of 18.

FROM THE START I WAS HELPLESS TO STOP THIS LISTEN

Grace and Carson are both in Las Vegas for the same reason Confrences..... but Carson's is for the Adult Entertainment world and Grace's is a Conference on Law because he's a Straight Male Porn star and she's a Law student. However, in the middle of the Bellagio Hotel these two unlikely soul-mates accidentally meet, sparks fly, banter follows but they both move on..... until the elevator ride that changed their lives, there perspectives and their very futures.

This was a captivating, fantastic, bitter-sweet love story that spanned five long years.... years of yearning for each other and, even though they hadn't stayed in contact with each other, their thoughts were never far away from that magical hot weekend that touched their hearts when the Porn star showed that he was just a naive vulnerable man and the Student who dreamt of what could be. But fate had a different plan for them so when reality came knocking on their door it led to a tear-filled heartbreaking goodbye.... a goodbye to all their new dreams and hopes of tomorrows.

To cut a long, frustrating, heartbreaking, enjoyable and totally entertaining story short (and not to give out too many spoilers) - a breathtaking young man turns into a handsome, fit, tattooed and decorated Navy Seal and a beautiful girl turns into a stunning engaged Defense Lawyer and one day their paths accidentally cross again. But this time it's because of murder, human trafficking and a secret life.

Worth a credit? Oh this was so good, so romantic and so bloody frustrating too but thankfully there was the HEA that we romance lovers all look forward to. Dual POV's and narration was great which even had a song in it which was done well. I'm so glad this is in my library and yet again Mia Sheridan has delivered a book that was very creditworthy.

A BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY

This one is a sexy sassy, heart warmer, super sappy, yada yada yada sweet love story. I loved it! I was unexpectedly hooked from chapter one. This is a stand alone book, but, there are some intriguing friends of Stinger's that would make interesting storylines for future books. I will definitely purchase more from Mia Sheridan. Highly recommended for diehard romantics.

Loved It! Didn't want to put it down!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This is the first book I read by Mia Sheridan. The blurb was intriguing but it was the audio sample that made me want to read this book! That audio clip is a perfect sample of what readers have to look forward to in both the story and the narrators. The hero and heroine are both smart and sarcastic. She’s witty! He’s extremely gifted in making just about anything into a sexual innuendo. Their bantering is awesome! Their conversation and interaction with each other truly drives the story forward. It’s what hooked me. Otherwise, I don’t think I would have picked up a book about a porn star… I mean … really? This seems to be the start of a new trend… porn star that will turn a new leaf or no longer work in the industry because he met ‘the one’. Yet, in “Stinger” the author does a fantastic job in making the reader forget that aspect of the hero. It’s more about the characters themselves.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved Carson from the very beginning. Sarcastic, quick wit and self-confident. He’s also funny! Sweet and has a lot of love to give but just doesn’t know it he’s worth being loved.

What about Maxine Mitchell and Brian Pallino ’s performance did you like?

Both Maxine and Brian did an excellent job telling their part of the story. Each provided unique tones and voices to the different characters. They each brought the characters to life.

Any additional comments?

The story is divided into two parts… when Carson and Grace first met and then five years later. The vibe of the first half is very light, carefree, and very “new adult” while the second half is the complete opposite. I would say the second half reads more like a contemporary with elements of romantic suspense. This was an interesting divide, but it makes sense for the story because of the characters.

There were some tropes or issues that are in many other books like “if they would have just talked” or “if he would have just gone up to her instead of assumed”, some things could have been avoided but then again, there wouldn’t have been a story to tell, right?

Overall a great listen/read and one that makes you look into the other books in the series. Though classified as a New Adult, the characters are 23 yrs old when the story begins but are 28ish when the story ends (see this is why I don’t LIKE the sub-genre of new adult… adult is an adult is an adult). So if you have something against the new adult genre or are just not fond of it, give this one chance, you won’t be sorry. I’ll be checking out the rest of the books in the series as I’m curious!

Seriously HOT!

An unexpected book. I was very uncertain about purchasing the book but am so glad I did. I really enjoyed the story. I absolutely adore Grace's character. She is so mature that it forces the sometimes immature Carson to own up to his childish outbursts and grow as a person in the process. A beautiful romance and VERY well developed characters. Don't hesitate to use a credit on this one.

Don't Make a Decision Just off of the Summary

Normally, I don’t read the book summaries. They tend to ruin the book for me. No matter how vague the author of them attempts to be they fail. For some reason, I read the one for this book and I almost didn’t get it. I have zero desire listen to/read about the escapades of a porn star falling in love. But I really liked the first book in the series. I decided to give it a chance. I have to say, I didn’t love it as much as the first book, but I’m no where near apathetic about it either. You could say I’m just south of busting a bag of confetti over it. So, if you’re on the fence about getting this book after reading the summary. You should give it a try. It really isn’t as smutty as you fear it will be.

So so so good

Mia did it again. I’m shocked by the description- it really doesn’t do this book justice at all. It hit all the right nerves and there weren’t too many graphic scenes that can sometimes take away from the story; in this book, they mean something more. I am also surprised this book isn’t getting more recognition. This is just as good as Arthur’s Voice in my humble opinion... beautiful story! I gave 4 stars for performance because I think the guy kind of missed the mark in the inflection of his voice with some comments/thoughts... I thought to myself that I would probably read it completely differently on paper, but other than that, incredibly done!!

Didn't see such a great story coming!

Where does Stinger rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Stinger is right up there. I am very, very stingy with 5 stars. I think the only reason I didn't rate it a 5 for story is the same reason I actually enjoyed the book. The beginning felt like it was one type of romance, and turned into something much more in depth and intriguing than I was expecting - almost like two different books. I loved it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

While it's always easy to like the guy, what made Stinger so likable was his turn-around as a human being. Loved him.

What does Maxine Mitchell and Brian Pallino bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

MM and BP were great - I could get lost in the story without the distraction of trying to decipher any who's-who in an audio. Definitely would listen to them again, especially BP.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Without giving anything away, probably the "toast" from bad-ass guys to a young life lost.

Mia gives us another great one

Any additional comments?

This book is so much more than you would expect from just reading the blurb. But are we surprised? This is Mia Sheridan we are talking about here. Mia's writing is superb, as we have come to expect from her. The narrators were outstanding, they did the characters justice and brought them to life. Within minutes of the beginning, I was laughing out loud in public. The story takes you across several phases of Grace and Carson's lives. You will experience the entire range of emotions while you go on the journey with them. Your heart with break, rejoice, and travel between the two several times. The secondary characters are developed beautifully, and add depth to the story. Mia Sheridan is quickly becoming an automatic 1-click author. Once you experience her work, you'll find this to be true also.

Not what I expected!

Would you consider the audio edition of Stinger to be better than the print version?

I did not read the print version ... I listened.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Stinger?

The scene in DC ... no spoiler here. This is a good love story ... not stellar, but worthy of listen on a rainy day. This is one you can put down and go on with your life and go back to it. In my opinion it lagged when the H/H decided to make a go of it ....

What does Maxine Mitchell and Brian Pallino bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Narration was good .... not perfect, but good.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The DC scene.

Any additional comments?

It was a credit worthy listen. It's not what you expect. Good story... nice HEA .... a hero you will want as your own!
