The telegram Samantha Sawyer Rodriguez holds is her key to freedom: her late uncle, Ezra, has left her his ranch in Sweetwater Springs, Montana. At last, she and her young son will have a true home, and she can finally pursue her dreams of raising her prized miniature horses and building a sanctuary for wayward orphans.
Prosperous rancher Wyatt Thompson has long coveted that river property. It’s bad enough that Ezra’s niece refuses to sell it, but worse by far that she’s stubborn, proud, and breathtakingly beautiful. The lovely widow and her adopted sons awaken memories of a shameful past he’s struggled to overcome. Yet when Samantha’s safety is threatened, he’ll risk everything to save the unexpected family he’s come to cherish.
In this follow-up to Wild Montana Sky, her acclaimed USA Today best-selling romance, Debra Holland sweeps listeners back to that majestic, historical landscape in an extraordinary story of redemption, courage, and tender, steadfast love.

To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.

Wyatt lives on a nearby ranch had hopes of purchasing Ezra's ranch and was aghast when he found out a single woman with a young child was going to raise minature horses there. Later she takes on the town troublesome twins and let them live with her on the ranch. Of course there are problems with the twins and with some of the children at school. Give this book a read you won't regret it.
Natalie Ross is a wonderful narrator, she brings her books to life, you are able to distinguish all of her characters they are done so well.
I'm a stay at home mom, even if she's 16 now. When I discovered Audible it was like discovering love :-) I love Audible. demonsangel
Starry Montana Sky was set in the Old West and life isn't like it is today. In those times women are supposed to take care of the home but never run a ranch by themselves. When Samantha Rodriguez was left a ranch in Montana as part of an inheritance. She's been living in Argentina with her late husband's family. She's felt like her son and her have been prisoners in her father in laws estate in the 1890's. She can't wait to escape and she plans on raising miniature horses and taking in orphaned boys.
Not every move is wonderful as Samantha knows all to well because she's moved around so much when she was young living with her dad. Now in Montana the closest neighbor is Wyatt Thompson and he's been asked to meet her and take her to the ranch. The same ranch he had plans on buying. Wyatt insist that she's taking on too much, with the ranch and now taking care of two orphaned boys before she's even settled in. These two boys have had it rough and it shows throughout the story. With the towns folks not all willing to be accepting of Samantha and the lifestyle she's creating. The one thing it does seem that people love those miniature horses she brought with her from Argentina. Wyatt's plans have turned upside down. His feelings for Samantha, along with the raising of those two orphaned boys have brought unwanted memories out that Wyatt has struggled for years to leave in the past where they belong. Some people will stop at nothing to make Samantha get rid of these boys and when a string of fires break out a town meeting is called and Samantha may very well lose her boys after all.
Natalie Ross is the narrator for all three books to the Montana Sky books that's available on Audible. She's a wonderful narrator and it shows. I love how she distinguishes her voice in a way you know who every character is just by their voice. It's wonderful knowing it's not just talking but rather a performance or play. Natalie pulled me in and once again just like in Debra's first story I felt as if I was there. If you have a love for historical romances then look no further because these books are great and clean enough for your teenagers to read or listen to. These stories are so enjoyable and relaxing that you feel as if your in Montana.
I don't even know where to begin. This was such an enjoyable audio book to listen to. There's so much in this story and I only gave a brief description about the story but it contains a whole lot more. I especially love the boys. They really are a big factor into this story. Each child has their own unique personalities. I really found Jack to be my favorite of the boys after one incident that happened in the story. I realized that Jack and yes, the others were all good kids they just needed someone to show them love. I love the setting Debra creates. I really love that Debra didn't create a love triangle with Edit and Samantha. She did show that there was some jealousy and tension between the two women but no false love going on which was a huge plus. I connected with the characters and I was extremely happy that characters from the first book showed up in the second story Debra wrote.
A thoroughly enjoyable story with a different feel to it than Wild Montana Sky had. I really enjoyed Samantha, an amazing heroine. Debra created her character to be compassionate along with being a temperamental wildcat that I couldn't help but adore. It took some time but Wyatt finally grew on me as well. Sometimes he was cold and often spoke before thinking, as with our heroine Samantha. The two are alike in many ways. I often found them both to be humorous at times. These books by Debra Holland are extremely enjoyable. I highly recommend these stories. These books are clean, relaxing, and so enjoyable that I loved them and I know if you love a clean historical romance then you'll love these books. I assure you to give these books a chance. I must say that I found this book even better than Wild Montana Sky because it had much more action, adventure, among so many things that you want in a story. I was gifted this book and I'm extremely grateful for it. This was such an enjoyable and relaxing story. This was a wonderful gift that I have thoroughly loved.
A well written heartwarming story you don't want to miss. It's a story most people should be able to relate to. The characters are so well portrayed by Natalie Ross, they seem real.
I would definately recommend it.
