Better than I expected

First book that has ever made me actually cry. I thought narrative was good too.

THE BEST MOST INTENSE STORY I HAVE EXPERIENCED !!

This author is new to me and although I TRULY get into many novels. .this is the first to grasp my heart and soul and cause SOBBING of both sadness and JOY!! EXCELLENT!!!! I CANT WAIT TO READ ALL OF HER BOOKS NOW!!! LOVED IT!!👍💜😍

Audiobook: Narrator – Kristen Potter
It’s officially official. I’m absolutely in LOVE with this narrator. I cannot imagine another doing such an outstanding job of both male and female voices, with accents while talking, none while “reading” the story. I just can’t recommend this narrator enough – at least when it comes to this series!

I read this one years ago and had completely forgotten how angsty and delicious it was.

Keely has been cast out of her clan. As a healer, she still has a small way of providing for herself but her life of solitude along with the accusations that were hurled at her have left her lonely and sick at heart. When she finds an injured warrior near death, she takes him in and tends to him. Even during his sickness, she sees a beautiful man and is drawn to him.

Alaric is on his way to meet his intended bride when he is ambushed and left for dead. When he briefly awakens, he finds the eyes of an angel. Throughout his near death recovery, he holds tight to the angel whose voice and touch keep him tethered.

When the McCabes find Alaric in Keely’s home, they instantly take him and her as well. She soon finds herself a reluctant and then eager part of their clan. The attraction between herself and Alaric continues to grow until they have to face the fact that he is promised to another and there is no going back on his word.


Keely was sassy and fierce and the more she found her way within the McCabe clan as well as the arms of the man she loved, the more she bloomed. Even as she is aware that Alaric will have to marry another, and that woman being her childhood friend that turned her back on Keely, she gives in to her desire for the man who holds her heart.

With a breaking heart, Alaric knows he must marry but he takes every opportunity until that day to be with Keely. She is everything that he wants and they have agreed to enjoy their time together until they are forced to end things. However, that time arrives sooner than either expected and that’s when the angst really amps up.

I loved everything about this book. I expected it to be a copy of book 1 except different characters, but it wasn’t even close. The angst level is out of this world as this couple are deeply in love but their circumstances prevent them from ever finding their happy ever after.

Highly recommend for historical romance readers who love their angst, Highland lasses and warriors, and an amazing love story.

This series in INTOXICATING !

This series is SO GOOD! Though this book is slightly less impressive than the first book. But still it was an amazing one. The highland stories are so exciting. The characters are so attractive and the plot is so sensual.
The narrator is really good. I like that she reads in simple neutral English, then when talking out the characters, transforms into a good and understandable Scottish accent. Very well done performance.
For historical addicts like me, this is a fine treat ;)

Love this series

What did you love best about Seduction of a Highland Lass?

I loved the story line, the sub plots, and the family dynamics of the McCabe's. There is a lot going on in this story it flows beautfully

Who was your favorite character and why?

always loved Calen, the youngest McCabe brother. He tries so hard to be cynical,about women and love, but you can feel deep down, he wants love more than anything.

What about Kirsten Potter’s performance did you like?

I was really sceptical l because she has an american accent,but that's only when she is reading a descriptive passage. But she was FANTASTIC, her Scots burr was bang on.for ALL the characters

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The most moving scene is the beginning of the wedding, When the heroine (Keeley) watches hero (Alaric) wed her childhood friend Rionna.
It was beautiful, and so moving, this scene alone is worth the credit.

You will not regret downloading this book, or any book. I cannot wait until Caelen's story!!!

A breath of fresh air!

I loved this book! The women are strong and are not ninnies!! Thank you Maya and thanks Kirsten for such a wonderful narration!!

Forbidden love... makes your heart melt

I'm writing this review after finishing all three books. This one is my favorite. Maya has a way to introducing so many characters and they all play out in all three books. Not many series do that. Their (all) chemistry and interactions are so heart warming. You get to know them all.

I love the way the relationship develops between Alaric and Keeley (Angel!). How they took care of one-another... so touching. Their love develops so innocently... into something erotic! Yup! Errrrrotic... yummy! OMG moments.

Maya Banks is one of my favorite writers... she can pretty much write anything with such passion. Love it. You are simply amazing.

Kirsten Potter brought this book to life with her voice. It's no easy task voicing both sexes. She was great.

I'm confident you will enjoy this book if you like an intense forbidden romance... with erotic moments. It is so beautifully written and spoken.

Another good listen in McCabe series

This is the 2nd book of the McCabe series and it's a good one. Love the way the relationship grows between h/h. Emotion,fun, wit, action, & love that endures. I didn't want to stop listening. You can read them alone but I recommend starting at the beginning of the series for you are familiar with the characters from previous book which adds to the depth of the story.
