In the second book in the Love Under the Big Sky series from this USA Today best-selling author of the With Me in Seattle series, life in Montana gets spicy when a woman and her divorce lawyer sign off the papers - and sign on to love.
Now that his best friend, Josh, has happily settled down with his true love on a Montana ranch, small-town lawyer Ty Sullivan starts thinking that maybe single life isn't all it's cracked up to be. And when Lauren Cunningham's no-good ex-husband comes after her for an unexpected trust fund, Ty steps in to protect her. But soon he can't help but think of her as more than a client. Lauren's in no mood to jump into another relationship, so how can Ty convince her that her mistake wasn't getting married, but marrying the wrong guy?

Did not read the print version but i prefer audio as it allows me to work and listen at the same time.
Ty- A lawyer and bad boy in one hand, sweet and sensitive in the other.
Both are great narrators and I think they did a pretty good job with this mild listen.
There were a few good parts but this book did not pull me in and suck me under like I love my books to do.
If you have listened to the first installment with Cara and Josh and liked it, I recommend you listen to this installment to find out what comes next with these hot males.
Narration was great. The characters engaging and believable Would recommend this ad a good escape read..
I am getting older with a younger heart and outlook. Love reading and just began listening to books. VERY avid reader!
Really liked Ty. He was a very good person, who became so even though his beginnings weren't easy. Just the right man for Lauren. I liked her as well. So glad he didn't have the jerk tendencies that his friend seemed cumbered with in the first book.
I've enjoyed the sweet stories in this series, but I have to admit I found the choice to have Lauren be a romance writer a little self indulgent. And any time they say in a story that "this isn't a romance novel" it pisses me off.
I love books and love to get lost in the fantasy. I'm always looking for a new good story to bury myself in. :)
This was a very good story. I liked both Lauren and Ty very much and their story was sweet and kept me engaged.
Lauren is well off but works (secretly) as a writer of erotic romance. She was married to a guy, Jack, that didn't treat her very well and was emotionally abusive. When she realized he was cheating on her and threw him out, he became physically abusive and made it clear he was only with her for her money. He then made sure their divorce was long and drawn out in order to bilk her for as much of her money as he could.
Ty is a lawyer and does a really good job at it. He had an abusive father which made him very protective of the women in his life. Ty is partners with Lauren's lawyer but doesn't want to act as her lawyer himself because he's interested in her. He's just waiting for her to recover some after her divorce before going after her.
Lauren's divorce has been final for a while when she gets served by Jack. He found out about a trust fund she got as they were breaking up and decided he deserved part of it so he's taking her to court over it. Lauren goes to Ty to see if he will represent her because she thinks he'll be more forceful than her current lawyer (his partner) but he refuses. She doesn't understand why at first but Ty soon tracks her down and makes his interest in her clear. Outside of her parents, Lauren hasn't had many people treat her well and after Jack, she doesn't have much faith in men treating her well. Because of this, she thinks Ty is just interested in having sex with her so he has to set about making sure she knows he really likes her and wants more.
Thankfully, Ty is rather forceful in making this clear to Lauren and he convinces her to start dating him. He finds out about her writing and is supportive in that, doing little things to show her he cares even when she's busy writing and under a deadline. With her and Ty being involved, Lauren starts to become friends with Cara (the heroine from book #1, Loving Cara) and Jill, Ty's sister. Things start going pretty well for her and Ty...there are a few issues here and there but mostly things go pretty smoothly between them. The main issue comes from Jack, as he's not only greedy but also a bit of a psycho that feels she owes him more than just money even if he was the villain in their marriage. Lauren and Ty do get past their difficulties though and end the story starting a very nice HEA together.
This was a very enjoyable story. I really liked both Lauren and Ty and thought they made a great couple. Outside of the issues with Jack (which do get a bit extreme), the story was pretty low angst overall. I liked the story and it was interesting enough to keep me engaged until the end. I'd recommend it. :D
* note - There were 2 narrators, a female for the parts from Lauren's PoV and a male for the parts from Ty's PoV. Both narrators did a pretty good job.
Thoroughly enjoyed this second book of the series. It was even better than the first. Love the way the author tells a story and what a wonderful love story it is. I am most definitely a big Kristen Proby fan! Can't wait to get into the next book. As this was second book to listen to narrators, am enjoying their performance and what they add to the story. Have certainly become an audio book fan!
"A nice story"
I have to admit that this is a good concept with strong characters that are occasionally funny.
Sadly it was predictable but it was sweet.
Book 2 in this series has lived up to book 1 Loving Cara.
I love the readers. They make the book come alive
