Publisher's summary

Number-one New York Times best-selling author Nora Roberts cordially invites you to meet childhood friends Parker, Emma, Laurel, and Mac — the founders of Vows, one of Connecticut’s premier wedding planning companies.

Laurel McBane has always relied on her friends for support, especially when her dream of attending culinary school was almost ruined by her parents’ financial problems. Now Laurel is repaying the kindness of her friends by creating extravagantly luscious tiers of cakes and other confectionary delights that add the perfect touch to their clients’ weddings.

As for romance, Laurel believes in it — in theory. But she’s too low-key to appreciate all the luxuries that other women seem to long for. What she does appreciate is a strong, intelligent man, a man just like Parker’s older brother, Delaney Brown, on whom Laurel has had a mega-crush since childhood.

But some infatuations last longer than others, and Laurel is convinced that the Ivy League lawyer is still out of her reach. Plus, Del is too protective of Laurel to ever cross the line with her, or so she thinks. When Laurel’s quicksilver moods get the better of her — leading to an angry, hot, altogether mind-blowing kiss with Del — she’ll have to quiet the doubts in her mind to turn a moment of passion into forever….

Critic reviews

"Passion erupts, but will they be able to make it last? Laurel's tart fairy tale romance offers few surprises, but it's impossible to deny Roberts's flair for sketching likable couples." ( Publishers Weekly)

Very flat, but great ending

This book was very flat. The buildup to the romance was too unemotional, I expected Del to be a bit more worked up about changing his relationship with Laurel (especially after his reaction to Jack and Emma). ALSO: this, like Bed of Roses had almost more discussion between friends about the sex and relationship than there was any actual writing about Del/Laurel's relationship.
HOWEVER: the ending is one of the best I've read in a while. It was a bit too quick and sudden (maybe because we were not reading Del's mind enough in the last few chapters) but really romantic.

Savor the Moment

I love Nora Roberts. But this book was tame. The couple went along like little puppets very little spice to add to the story.

Enjoyable but...

the story was not as good as the first two in this series. There wasn't enough development of the relationship. There were so many opportunities to "liven up" the story.

Very Sweet!

This is the 3rd book in the quartet and I enjoyed it as much as the others. If you are a Nora Roberts fan you will love this book. Sweet story and a little hint of what is to come with Parker and Mel in book 4. Narrator was good but not great. Sometimes it was hard to tell who was speaking because she didn't use different voices for different characters. I still have to give it 5 starts because the story was so good. Credit worthy.

Loved this series

I usually don't want a straight love story but this is a great series. Nora Roberts is a great writer and I loved the series.

4 girls and a wedding business: Part 3

If you could sum up Savor the Moment in three words, what would they be?

Fun, flirty, sassy

What was one of the most memorable moments of Savor the Moment?

Seeing two people who have been friends a long time finally realize that they were meant to be together. The quote that once you find that person, you'll realize why it never worked out with anyone else...that is this book to a T.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Laurel jumps out of the car to go sleep with Del on the 4th of July. It's just so memorable.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

It's always right in front of you.

"The Hostages, Free the Prada's "

What did you love best about Savor the Moment?

Author started this story with some quick fast humor, "shoes".
Reader Angela Dawe made this story come to humorous life. The 3 stories she reads in this series are not to be missed. Too bad Carter/Mac's story is read by a bad reader, I had to skip it. I just can't put up with another bad reader. Kate Rudd ruined this authors Night series and I didn't get to listen to one of my all time fave N.R. series.

What other book might you compare Savor the Moment to and why?

Book #2 is the best in this series, due to sexy Jack and the Soccer game. Books #3 and #4 are both good and on the same par but not too be missed. If you only try one book, make it #2. All 3 books make you feel good and makes you wish you had this gang for good friends.

Which scene was your favorite?

Shoe hostages, the 5 year old and Laural, and all the sweet dialogue. (reader Angela Dawe does wonderful kid's voices. If you like her, check out her Debbie MaComber reads featuring kids i.e. Father's day.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I have listened to all 3 books read by Angela Dawe in 3 days....sorry to say good bye to the gang. Yes you do have to get through author's over use of flowers in #2, but that must be her fave. Books 3 & 4 are not so over done with food and organization.
