I would definitely listen to Saved by Darkness again because not only did I enjoy the story but he narrator was fantastic as well.
I absolutely love paranormal romance reads so the fact that this book had both of what I enjoy was a plus for me. The story was well written and narrated.
I love that while listening to the story that Mr. Kafer is able to portray every character and their feelings.
There wasn't one particular moment because I enjoyed the story as whole.
This book can be listened to without hearing or reading the previous books in the series and it is perfect for paranormal lovers.
I love this series, I love the writing, the plot and I love the narrator Jeffrey Kafer. His voice is just perfect for this series.
In this book six, we follow Ian McCabe, whom was first introduced in Hunted by Darkess and again in Into the Darkness as one of Bo and Rory’s siblings (Book 4&5 heroes). Ian has always been ashamed of his heritage as half demon and half dragon. The demon side has been the cause of scorn but most painful loss was his mate Fiona O’Riley who married another to save him over fifty years ago.
A chance meeting revealed that she did not in fact marry another but lives within the Stavros’ wolf territory. Now he has to convince her that they finally belong together.
I love second chance romance tropes. They often allow the author to properly develop character’s past. The reader has a chance to get to know the main characters and properly empathize with their plight. Ian and Fiona didn’t disappoint. They were young lovers fighting against family obligation and expectation.
As with the prior books, Saved by Darkness was full of action and romance. In addition, there were humorous banter between Ian and his brothers. In fact, the reader met yet another half demon brother. I love how the author continues to link each story together by maintaining contact with the previous couples. The stories are not overly long and my attention is continually engaged.
I am a big fan of Jeffrey Kafer and the superb job he has done narrating this series. He has never caused me to be confused. He gives life to each character and I am able to follow very easily. I really recommend listening to this series in order so you can appreciate the journey each story undertook to get to this point. I love this series and I can’t wait until the next story.
If you love action packed, super sexy with really captivating characters, this is the series for you.
This is a great book; this is the sixth book in the Darkness series written by Katie Reus and narrated by Jeffrey Kafer. Half-demon, half-dragon shifter Ian McCabe is hellbent on getting back the only woman he’s ever loved. When Fiona O’Riley kicked him out of her life decades ago, he thought she was gone for good. Now that she’s back, nothing will stop him from claiming her. But she wants nothing to do with him or his family. Fiona knows that Ian is the only male for her. The only way to keep him alive is to stay away from him. But when tragedy strikes and they discover a wicked agenda for the mass murder of humans, they must work together to take down the enemies that threaten everyone.
This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises.
The narrator Jeffrey Kafer did a wonderful job with this book. He did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.
If you are looking for a great book with well-developed characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
I am Tammy Payne. I am an avid book reader and I also have a book blog :)
Absolutely. I loved this story and I also love how the narrator handled it.
When Fiona finally decides to trust in Ian and their love
When they are off to battle Fiona's brothers.
I found myself laughing at times and screaming at other times.
Excellent audible and the book is also good too
Saved by Darkness. (Darkness Series – Book 6) by Katie Reus. This is an excellent paranormal series. It has anything a paranormal romantic suspense reader could want – shifters, vampires, demons, demi-gods – you name it you can probably read about it in this world. I would recommend reading the other books in this series first – you will get a better understanding of the characters, secondary characters and their interactions. Ian McCabe – half dragon/half demon has loved Fiona O’Reilly for decades. He is determined to win her back and to discover the reason she rejected him so many years ago. Fiona, willing to sacrifice her love to keep Ian safe does what she has to do. However, as an enemy emerges and Ian and Fiona work together to save humans from destruction will this be their new beginning or the beginning of the end for them? Ms. Reus does a great job with the characters in this book. I could revisit the Darkness World that she has created over and over. I look forward to more books in this series.
As usual Jeffrey Kafer does an excellent job! He brings the characters to life and his narration of the book is superb. He seems to have an understanding of the book and the characters and that shows in his telling of the story. I listened in the car on a road trip and it made the time fly by.
Ian McCabe is a powerful half-demon, half-dragon. He has endured pain and rejection and shouldered on. He loved Fiona O'Riley with every fiber of his being and then she left. After all these years, he still loves her and mourns her loss. Suddenly he sees her again and their attraction is reignited. Can the overcome the past and be together forever? Fiona and Ian are compelling characters. These dragon shifters caught my interest and pulled me into their story. I loved their power and their passion. They are fierce and protective. When both humans and supernaturals are threatened, these two along with Finn and his Stavros pack go to the Hell realm to fight an unknown enemy. Will they be successful? The odds aren't in their favor as the suspense and danger increase. I couldn't put the book down until I got answers. Hell is dark and deadly and added to my feeling of dread. As did the narration of Jeffrey Kafer. He made the characters come to life with his vivid portrayal. This is a worthy addition to the Darkness Series. I enjoyed catching up with familiar characters from previous books. Katie Reus is an excellent author. I enjoy her stories and can't wait to see what happens next.
I think I have probably read almost all of Katie Reus's books. Each one becomes my favorite as I start a new one. I had read this one before I listened to the audible version so I was familiar with it. That added to my pleasure in listening to the recording. Second readings of a book always fill in gaps of memory and increase absorption of the text. it was a very enjoyable experience. It was exciting sexy and romantic with just a touch of sadness that thankfully did not last long. Another winner in my estimation.
