Publisher's summary

When Gabe Hamilton saw Mia Crestwell walk into the ballroom for his hotel’s grand opening, he knew he was going to hell for what he had planned. After all, Mia is his best friend’s little sister. Except she’s not so little anymore. And Gabe has waited a long time to act on his desires.

Gabe has starred in Mia’s fantasies more than once, ever since she was a teenager with a huge crush on her brother’s best friend. So what if Gabe’s 14 years older? Mia knows he’s way out of her league, but her attraction has only grown stronger with time. She’s an adult now, and there’s no reason not to act on her most secret desires. As Gabe pulls her into his provocative world, she realizes there’s a lot she doesn’t know about him or how exacting his demands can be. Their relationship is intense and obsessive, but as they cross the line from secret sexual odyssey to something deeper, their affair runs the risk of being exposed - and is vulnerable to a betrayal far more intimate than either expected.

WORST PERFORMANCE!!!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Yes, the narrarator, he couldnt act and was absolutely awful. On scences that would usually be intense or where Gab would act gruff or sensual, he never changed his voice or acted it out. It was awful. The book was ok, not Maya's best but was good.

Would you recommend Rush to your friends? Why or why not?

I would but only to read themselves not thru audible.

What didn’t you like about Adam Paul’s performance?

AWFUL!!! I dont understand how they passed this, had Maya Banks not put the emotions basically written you would never have known what the characters were supposed to be feeling. Worst performance, maybe i would have rated this higher had there been emotion with it.

I will make sure not to listen to anything else where he is the narrartor

What would have made this romance irresistible?

More story about them and less sex, it would be a few minutes and they would have more sex. Dominance and submission/BDSM is way more than just the sex and that was what Maya focused on the most. Had there been more about that and the enjoyment someone giving their submission it would have been better.

Terrible Narrarator.

Could not even finish listening to the story. Story seems to mimic 50 shades of gray.

A domineering male story

Was Rush worth the listening time?

I managed to get a quarter of the way through before I relented and gave up. There wasn't even a good romantic lead up to the affair, very sterile indeed. I don't know if it was trying to be a fifty shades of grey or not, but it was more robotic than fluent. Even the sex scenes were part of a job description. I didn't finish it so can't comment on the rest of the story

I dont understand

started out to be a really good story I thought oh wow this is going to be different than most books then all the sudden she agreed what she wanted told him what she wanted then when he does it they're all upset I'm sorry but when you agree to those kind of terms it's not always going to come out the way you want so I don't understand why it was written this way it makes women think that they can do something it's supposed to turn out a different way. I didn't even finish the book I was hoping for a love story

Steamy x 10 !!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If you like a steamy romance with a dominant male at the helm (and frankly, who wouldn't?) then you will love this book by Maya Banks. I am sure I was blushing in the office breakroom listening to the splendid narration on my lunch break!

What did you like best about this story?

Loved the characters and the way the storyline swept me away.

What about Adam Paul’s performance did you like?

Unlike some listeners, I love a male voice reading these types of stories. Adam Paul's melodic tones lead to many of the aforementioned blushes.

alright

Honestly the story and writing was average. definitely a soccer mom book group kind of book but the ending was nice. if you're looking for something 50 shades of grey-esque this is close with better knowledge of kink culture.would have been better with a female narrator but the man who narrated did a good job
