Publisher's summary

When Gabe Hamilton saw Mia Crestwell walk into the ballroom for his hotel’s grand opening, he knew he was going to hell for what he had planned. After all, Mia is his best friend’s little sister. Except she’s not so little anymore. And Gabe has waited a long time to act on his desires.

Gabe has starred in Mia’s fantasies more than once, ever since she was a teenager with a huge crush on her brother’s best friend. So what if Gabe’s 14 years older? Mia knows he’s way out of her league, but her attraction has only grown stronger with time. She’s an adult now, and there’s no reason not to act on her most secret desires. As Gabe pulls her into his provocative world, she realizes there’s a lot she doesn’t know about him or how exacting his demands can be. Their relationship is intense and obsessive, but as they cross the line from secret sexual odyssey to something deeper, their affair runs the risk of being exposed - and is vulnerable to a betrayal far more intimate than either expected.

Narrator ruined it.

Story a FSOG knock off, but not near as descriptive. The narrator totally ruined the whole story.

Narrator..sooooo not sexy

Would you try another book from Maya Banks and/or Adam Paul?

I love Maya Banks, but didn't feel Adam Paul did the story justice. It sounded rushed and cheesy at times. Not sexy at all.

Narrator all wrong

The story is good. I didnt like the narrator. The female voices sounded all wrong and when he was reading normal pars it seemed monotone. He just didnt seem right for this book. Some male voices just are wrong for the characters.

NOT AS GOOD AS SWEET OR KGI SERIES

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I love Maya Banks, don't get me wrong, however, I would like to see a series where the beautiful, hunky, stacked, sexy men who are the leads in her books are something other than brooding (although that has its own sex appeal) and determined not to have relationships men.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I loved the ending. I always love Ms. Banks' endings.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Adam Paul?

I would. However, it took a ways through the "listen" to get used to him. I think there are other men who could have done a much better job with the romance/sex inflections than Mr. Paul. I love Dick Hill's voice - don't know why he doesn't do more romance, but there are others as well. Maybe Mr. Paul could work on his "sexy" man voice.

Could you see Rush being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Possibly

Hot Hot

Any additional comments?

I think a different narrator would have been better, he seemed to "Rush" reading the story,
It was read fast. Other than that it was great.

Early review

This so far is seriously an awesome story I don't know what people's issues is with the narrator. He might not have the best alpha voice I have heard But I have definitely heard worse. I would recommend because it has been awhile since I found an actual book to interest me a few weeks and this one is doing it

Not as bad as some reviews but...

This book could have been really good but neither MC was very likable. Whenever continued miscommunication is used to create conflict, it gets old and shows the immaturity of the characters.

What I do like is that you learn why the behavior of the characters developed the way they did. The major conflict moment in Paris was a bit irritating. Why would you turn your back and not monitor the situation that you created... Really? The follow up in NYC, the confrontation occurs with the bad person but the H doesn't delete the evidence or ask who else was involved... Again, really?

If you don't care for erotica style stories, don't read this and then complain about the kinky or bdsm style sex. I don't get some of the fetish types like using crops but to each their own. The unlimited orgasms per day is pretty far-fetched and can be complained about ... Maybe. ;)

Gabe is completely awful with no excuse for it and Mia is willing to do anything to live out her childhood fantasy.

Just can't get into this narrator

I read this book years ago when it came out and loved it so I wanted to do a re-read of the audible version. I couldn't get into this narrator at all though so I never made it through the full story. He was very monotone and ruined the story for me.
