Critic reviews

"Davina Porter maintains the distinct voices she creates for each character throughout the lengthy narration. Her delivery of 18th-century language sounds authentic and is easily understandable." (AudioFile)

It's a Chick Flick on Audio

Had a great time with this book hard to put down, lots of action and a little too much mush, my wife loved all of it. The science fiction aspect was very minimal., I was hoping for more but it never came. all in all a great read.

A Classic - Absolute Perfection

So well done. Any lover of historical fiction or historical romance shouldnt miss this. I've both read the paperback and listened to this on audio, but I fell in love with it on audiobook. For those worried about length, it goes fast when told by the narrator. Absolute perfection.

Best book ever!

By far the best story I have ever heard! The narrator made the whole story seem so real, infused with emotion, character and dialects that I would have never experienced had I read the book myself! I laughed, cried, got angry and even felt spiritual while listening to this audiobook! I definitely give this author and narrator 5 stars!

I liked this book!

I was looking for a long audiobook from this genre when I ran across this book. I almost didn't buy this one but I am very glad I did! The author is very detail oriented but it doesn't seem to get in the way of the story. I felt like it had some surprising twists to the plot that kept it moving! I like the narration as well. It hooked me as I just finished listening to the third book of this series! Can't wait to listen to book four!
