Best Series Ever!

Exciting historical fiction!
If this is not a reasonably accurate representation of the Highlands in the mid-18th century, it doesn't matter. It's engrossing and interesting, with good time travel paradox thrown in for good measure!

At least Geillis put her husbands out of misery
I find myself totally devoid of sympathy or interest in the Claire Fraser character. Don't get me wrong, I love all the history and Jamie Frazer. I just can't stand how Claire torments her two husbands. The only difference between Claire Fraser and Geillis Duncan is that Geillis put her husbands out of misery alot quicker.

Wonderful narrator
I am not a fan of romance novels and thought this was historical fiction, which it is -- in part. The narrator is so wonderful however that she pulled me into the book and held me there even when I realized it wasn't what I usually prefer. I am taken with the story now & could listen to Davina Porter forever.

Best Books I Have Ever Read.....Says How Great!
What did you love best about Outlander?
Easier to answer what didn't I like about it? I liked everything!!! It is a romance, an adventure, and a marvelous story about how we survive. Claire is every woman we want to be like; Jamie is like the man every woman wants; the story is about true events. Sigh....I loved it from the first page.
What did you like best about this story?
The story begins with a loving couple on vacation to reconnect and then moves to a thrilling adventure unplanned which makes it all the more wonderful. I sure wish those standing stones were real but alas....there is some fiction in this historical novel. I like historical fiction best.
Which character – as performed by Davina Porter – was your favorite?
Claire was performed best followed closely by Jamie. Davina is a marvelous narrator so when she changes voices it is hard to believe that the voice is not coming from a man. I was just enthralled by the whole performance. I mean, how does she keep the voices straight? The listener can recognize each one.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
NEVER, NEVER MAKE THIS INTO A FILM.

The audio is better than the text but a movie would ruin it all.
