Outlander is the best!

I have read this book in hard copy at least 5 times. I was a little skeptical to get it on audio because I had a very clear vision of the characters in my head. The narrator did a fabulous job. I fell in love with Jamie Fraser all over again. I recommend this book to everyone!!

Excellent Narrator! Great characters.

I'm not generally one to read/listen to romance novels, but decided to try this one based on the reviews and the sample. I'm amazed at how engrossed I became in it. Davina Porter is awesome! I'll try the rest in the series when I find the unabridged versions read by her. She does the different characters voices so well, you can tell who's speaking even without context.

THE BEST SERIES I HAVE EVER READ,LISTEN TO.

I am hooked to this series and will listen to it over and over again. I am listening to the complete series in any form I can find but prefer the complete unabridge if available. You will be back for the complete book. I recommend this to everyone no matter how long it takes you to complete it. I am even purchasing all the books in first additions if possible for my collection of favorite books, not to lend.

Absolutely Enthralling!

I am SO glad I found this series on Audible. I just finished "Outlander" and now I'm immediately getting "Dragonfly In Amber". I hope it's the second book as there was no mention that I could see on Audible's website.

romance novel with a great story

I don't often read romance novels. but this had enough interesting storyline going on, that I enjoyed it.

Throughout the whole book you can hear in the background people talking and I also heard someone cough.

Yes - the urgency to continue the story. It grabs at the heart like no other and I absolutely love the humor Claire exhibits.

Davina Porter takes great novel to the next level

What made the experience of listening to Outlander the most enjoyable?
Prior to listening to this audiobook, I had first read the book several years ago. For some reason I like listening to books that I enjoyed reading. This was a long book and a long audiobook - over 33 hours long. In some ways I think I actually liked listening to the audiobook more than when I sat down with the book the first time.

The narrator for this book Davina Porter did a phenomenal job with this book. She brought life to the book and its characters. She made it easy to tell which character was talking. All I can say is WOW! I never tired of listening to the sound of her voice.

The story is excellent. I remembered more of it that I thought I did the further I got into the book. Sometimes, Gabaldon does over explain and adds a few too many details. There are a couple of plot points in the book that I don't particularly like but I enjoyed the overall book as a whole.

I consider a book to be great when I don't want to put it down and I stay up later than I should just to read "1 more chapter" that ends up being the rest of the book. I consider an audiobook to be great when I find myself wishing my commute was longer or I am sitting in my driveway in my car listening to "just a little bit more." This is that kind of book for me.

Couldn't Stop Listening

I absolutely love this book. I couldn't wait to keep listening to it each day. I mostly began because I wanted to watch the TV show and I'm the type of person that wants to read the book first before seeing the show. I'm so glad I did.

The narrator did a great job with this book. I got lost in her voice and completely forgot that she wasn't the characters.
